I guess easy way to distnuguish Russian from Ukrainian is load of "y" sound in Russian vs "ee" sound in Ukrainian, soft N or Ny in Russian, G in Russian vs H in Ukrainian

The song or anthem as it became, goes back to when Finland was east Sweden. 1000 year history. To this day Sweden has a saying, "Finlands sak är vår" Translate that in Google Swedish is a Germanic language however mixed with Norse Might explain why Finland and Sweden joined NATO together

@@Richie8406 Yup, can't blame them. With a low population density and lots of land to cover, they need to work together against all kinds of odds, including the "bear"...

Four to six pauses is more than enough. GREAT song, and AMAZING performance. Eivor is sooooo powerful!

Yep agree with the comment below less talk more focus on those emotions and pure art coming out of this whole band. You need to pause it for copyright but does not need to be that often. twice per reaction is completely enough

Walpurgisnacht is still one of the big holidays here in Sweden. Here it’s called Valborg. It’s actually an old pagan tradition, centered around celebrating the coming of spring. We light a huge bonfire, with the whole local community gathering around it. The celebration existed long before Christianity reached Northern Europe, but it was somewhat hijacked and rebranded as “Christian” throughout history. A similar local tradition is Midsummer. It’s the most popular celebration in Sweden, more celebrated than Christmas. What’s interesting is that unlike pretty much all other pagan traditions, Midsummer has never been hijacked and morphed into “a Christian celebration”. Most other traditions has been, but the Midsummer tradition remains intact, never hijacked by Christianity.

Paldies! Indeed Magical! Latvian music makes my soul soar! ❤🔥 The drum is a hollowed Oak tree. The outfits are representative of different tribes. In 1200 the Latvian tribal areas were Latgalian, Curonian, Semigallian, Selonian, and Livonian. Our history is extraordinarily complex!
