Thank you so much for sharing this, Diego. 10/10! 🌟

The design is good but wasteful of the wood gas being burned off via chimney. More efficient design would be to re-direct the wood gas directly to the fire chamber for secondary burn during pyrolysis stage effectively becoming self fuelling from then on

Wow fantastic design… great work dear….is it possible for you to share the measurements of the design…. I would really appreciate…

Yes now that is a way better design ! Perfecto ! I hope you don’t mind if I copy your design only larger. That’s great ! Thank you 😊

Thank you for making this video. I’ve been considering making a charcoal retort myself, and in my research so far, I think this is the best design. It’s all self contained and when built correctly is the fastest and most efficient design. I think having more holes in the chimmeny and the addition of an insulation wrap around the barrel itself would drastically improve your chances of success. I am going to build a retort out of a 55 gallon drum and 6” pipe. Again, thank you for the advices

Brilliant.Getvthe insulation, I saw a rig w it , it cuts time needed to create charcoal a lot, so less work feeding it, less fuel needed, less pollution

Thanks brother, charcoal is always so expensive when we feed the Homeless. Always good to see good men showing others their ideas and the fact you came back and showed us how you noticed how to improve as well.

I had the same design as yours but sadly the fires stays at the level of the burning chamber. It does create a torch like fire all the way to the top of the steel pipe. Any advise?

I have been watching any charcoal making video I can find. Yours it the best one. I really liked how you explained your thinking and then you gave an honest analysis of the problems with your first one. My son and I blacksmith and we use charcoal. I am going to make your improved model. I don't know where you live but I wished it was in East Tennessee!

@@diegobadillagonzalez2492 Thank you. It took a while but I found a pipe free that should fit- now to research what amps and rods to use for this in the welder.

Nice video. I would suggest you make this a rocket stove instead for the following reasons. 1. You will get a hotter fire with less wood. 2. Easier to feed fuel in the air/fuel feed. 3. You can capture the gas and use it for cooking or running a generator. 4. You can insulate the outer barrel to retain more heat.
