what keeps this product from going out the back of the crack(outside)
@aaronkuertz6012Ай бұрын
The soil on the other side against the foundation keeps the material in the crack. If there is no soil, then you apply more Poxy Paste
@tido2222Ай бұрын
We followed the steps in your video, and the compound cured in the nozzle while the Prime Layer cured. You don’t mention using a new tube or how long the prime layer should cure or anything. We just wasted a ton of product and can’t complete our project :(
@aaronkuertz6012Ай бұрын
I am sorry to hear you had problems with your install. When the two parts of the polyurea meet and mix in the nozzle, they begin to cure. The video states at 2:08 that the material is fully cured in about 15 minutes.

This method has a big issue. Most of time, the glue will NOT make it all the way OUTSIDE the wall due to too low of pressure from the glue gun. As the result, the outside half of the wall will soaked with water for a long period of time because it cannot leaks inside anymore. The soaked area after a long period of time will disintegrate and result in a huge/permeant foundation damage. Either you make sure the glue goes ALL the way outside or get a high pressure solution. Wish this helps.

Agree ! When I saw those flimsy plastic tubes for inserting the substance, I thought "here we go" the best method is to use the professional kind which act like a grease nipple ie. the substance can only flow in one direction and you can get much more pressure to force the sealant all the way through to the outside.
@leokamkeungwong4 ай бұрын
The proxy I got is very thick and hard to squeeze out from the tube, unlike the one in the video. It makes the application a lot harder.

Same. I just did the poxy last night and it was nearly impossible to get out of the tube.

What if the cement inside the crack is damp? Use Epoxy or Polyurethane?
@joeprager99617 ай бұрын
Based on my research, expoxy is super strong, but should only be used if the crack is dry. Polyurethane is used if water is present in the crack, or you can put a 70 pint dehumidifier, set at 45%RH, and run it for 3 or 4 days, to see if you can dry out the space. But, in general, expoxy for dry cracks, poly foam adhesive for wet cracks.

@@joeprager9961 I just completed 2 7ft cracks in my basement wall. I used the HydroStop-300 which worked fine. One crack was very thin all the way up. Had plenty of the sealant. The other crack had spots with 1/8". I completed but I wish I had a little more sealant. I bought one kit from Applied Technologies with free shipping. The second I had to get from Amazon for free shipping.

In what application would you use foam over epoxy? Does it merely come down to costs or does foam have an advantage over epoxy? I am considering expoxy for my basement wall cracks that are minor (less than 1/2" side)

You use epoxy in structural cracks.

Did the epoxy coat inside and injected that great stuff waterproof, so far so good. And it was cheaper. Since from what I’m reading this has a 10-20 year life. I will polyurethane seal the out side of crack. I was looking for a permanent seal when I purchased. O well

Don't fuk up like me. I thought the ports were sealed perfect and every fuking one leaked. Press slow when you inject and put more than enough apoxy to seal everything as much as possible, or you will regret it. If you don't have enough go buy more. Don't use the expanding foam because if you fuk up like me you won't be able to fix it in The future without digging it all out. Use the appoxy crack filler type instead.

I just did this on a very narrow crack that did leak a lot of water and I'm just waiting for it to rain. The only issues I had was injecting water into that narrow crack. It would just run out. So what i did was just inject the water with my mouth using a a little pressure. That worked well and I could judge how much water I injected. Maybe if the water bottle had a 90 degree tube it would work better. Waiting to see if I'm successful because if I get 2 inches or more of rain in a short time I get lots of water in my basement. Grrrrr.

I recently sealed up pass-throughs in my solid concrete basement wall (1” Cu water supply and 4” PVC sewer outlet) with their product. They responded to my pre-purchase email inquiries promptly. Their single waterline kits would likely seal the gap between a single 1” copper water supply and a 1.25”-1.5” diameter pass-through, standard basement thickness. If your pass-through diameter is larger you should order one extra tube of HydroStop 300 with your kit so you have enough. Their single waterline kit is not enough to seal between a single 4.5” sewer outlet and a 5” diameter pass-through, standard basement thickness. Plan to order two extra tubes of HydroStop 300 with your kit so you have enough. Personally I would rather order more than enough HydroStop 300 tubes and have extra left over. Not having enough would be a disaster to correct later on. If you have a combo job then you could do what they recommended to me. Order their 20’ foundation crack kit to ensure there are enough materials. The only downfall is you will not get the waterline kit instructions and it is not posted on their website. You will get the flexible extension tube that helps out if the pass-through is near the floor. My after-sale email inquiries went unanswered. So just figure you are on your own after that. Their currently provided caulk gun is improved and works fine. Current kits ship with PoxiPaste in separate jars instead of in a caulk tube, still works fine. Their PPE is okay but I rather use my own PPE since it fits me better. Most important just use some PPE! Also note that there will be an odor (fumes) so ventilation/respirator is work considering.
