Thank you. The ere a large parts jig available ? I need to make hardwood sash window components to same thickness and don’t want to buy expensive machinery. Eg use a number 7 jointer plane on a sled with adjustable height.

Thank you @carlosbanegas6616 Really appreciate the nice comment, KZbin is definitely a hard cookie to crack, but I guess that’s part of the fun! I’m not very good with computers unfortunately so the best I can do right now is to email you some plans, I’m more than happy to do that, they will be hand drawn though, it’s something I’m looking to do in the future, making plans available for anyone who is interested, Hope that helps you out, Thanks again for taking the time to comment, Mike

Hello @premyslhruby9095 Thank you, I’m glad that you liked the video, I’d be more than happy to provide you with some drawings but not sure if you’re aware, Dewalt make a trolly for the TSTAK boxes, If you like I can find you some details, Happy to help either way.

Well, I know dewalt makes a trolley for TSTAK. But I need to modify the dimensions of of base plate so to buy one is not a way for me. What I am interesting are some design details of side locking by latch. I have DEWALT Latch N409477 = how to integrate them to to base plate (unfortunately your solution is much better, but these latches are not on the marked in our country). Thank you in advance for your support.

Hi Mike - I am doing something similar on an outdoor kitchen. I am struggling with hinges! What type of cabinet hinge did you use and how did you avoid the slats/battens from fouling on each other? Was it just a 25mm gap? Also what thickness was the door? Since mine is outdoors I used 12mm marine ply and was going to fit a 45x19mm batten on the outside.

Nice little jig. I only just discovered your video as I'm searching for a jig to create my own veneers. I'm just wondering how fine, what minimum thickness you can plane a piece of wood too? I'm guessing that little piece of wood you worked on is approximately 5x5 mm. Can you achieve a veneer thickness of 2 mm, 1 mm, I doubt this jig can go any size thinner? Greetings from Thailand.
@mikeswoodencreations5712
@mikeswoodencreations5712 Жыл бұрын
Thank you Aragorn De Dolor, I hope I answer this correctly, so the thickness off the veneer can be adjusted on how much set you have on your hand plane, even if you set your plane to a very deep setting you will still have very thin veneers, (the Japanese are very good at this technique but never seen them use a jig) as far as the width goes, that would all depend on the width of your plane and the jig, you can go smaller than 5x5 mm, you just have to support the piece with a couple of wedges, (really hard to explain what I mean here) you can go as small as you need, you just need to make supports/wedges to hold it in position, hope that makes sense, do you have access to a bandsaw? Thanks again for the message and greetings from England.

Seems like a lot of motion. Plug in, set depth etc. Why not just had cut it off and sand it? I mean what you did works. But you would get the exact same result in less time with a good handsaw

Do you just screw skirts Ping Pong? If I ever had to replace this I’d run a Stanley knife across the top so any damage would be below the skirt/base line, an easy fix, I’ve always used some sort of adhesive so it would damage the wall somewhat anyway, I’ve personally never had a problem but always interested in other peoples views, thanks for the comment 🤝
