By stepping back and allowing the mortals of Mondstadt to guide themselves, he created an environment where they could truly thrive. His hands-off approach has been so successful that he is the only Archon who has intervened only on rare occasions, and even then, only when absolutely necessary. Furthermore, the structure of Mondstadt reflects his ideals. The Knights of Favonius are not subservient to the aristocracy or an elite ruling class; instead, they exist to protect and serve the common people, even safeguarding them from potential abuses of power by the nobility. This balance ensures that the power lies with the people, not with an oppressive hierarchy. In contrast, the other nations in Teyvat seem to struggle with this level of independence. Many are plagued by corruption, rigid social structures, or an overreliance on divine entities like the Archons or figures such as Neuvillette to lead them. While those leaders may act with good intentions, their heavy involvement often stifles the growth and agency of their people. Venti’s approach stands out as an ideal, a model of leadership that prioritizes equality, justice, and sustainable peace for the long term.

I love that they chose all 6 other elements to represent the 6 tribes, but found a way to incorporate pyro into all of them in some way. I'm really impressed with Natlan so far

Genshin 5.1 Archon Quest just lacks one thing to make the story the most perfect quest: Blood Assets. But even adding that would just be cruel and would make the story more horrifying than it is right now. The only time I saw blood was from the Raiden Shogun Quest Act 1. Gave me chills really.

They say that hard times create strong humans, but no one told you how many times they have lost.

Tutorials would be much more useful, if they were made on dedicated arenas with limited number of machines, instead of the same wild nature spots. It current state they are pretty useless, except, maybe, extra scores.

paimon is not a factor of an opinion she got traumatized from a grill blowing up in the most recent event "TRAUMATIZED" not to mention the traveler's power scaling for example during Navia's cutscene where he can't handle a couple of rocks (since it's navia's story quest she needs to be the star but it cripple's our dragon,god slayer and thousands of enemies vanquisher MC persona) not to mention where he starts to be on guard against thieves, bandits and even mushrooms after achieving so much it's simply unreliable narration honestly hoyo doesn't treat MC as an MC but as a mannequin to showcase the rest of the game

Mavuika states at the end of the Archon quest when you talk to her at Kachina's party, that Natlanders are tied to the Wayob and the Night Kingdom since they don't have leylines. So any Natlander who ventures outside the region for too long starts loosing their memories and personality. That's probably what happened to Vanessa's tribe, they left and completely forgot about their homeland, disconnected from the Wayob and aimlessly wandering Teyvat. So when Venti asks for stories from Vanessa about their people, Vanessa has none to give. They're a displaced tribe far from home. :(

i have a lot of trouble with the localization. I cant understand some of the phrases a lot of the time.

That was the first and only time I noticed my hubris crumble when the "protagonist halo" and "we will get through like we always did" just... Didn't happen. The Traveler - us - were useless in the grand scheme of things. Most of us saved more or less people, but the abyss corruption was engulfing everything and I'm pretty sure everyone felt that looming dread of "... I can't save them... What's wrong...?" And at that moment, I noticed how invested I really was in the quest. I was tired from doing it in one go, but refused to stop, refused to let go. When nothing was working and things were getting worse and worse and worse I felt so weird. And just then I noticed how bold and confident I was as the Traveller and how... That just wasn't enough. I didn't see nor talk to many npcs, but my overall death record wan't so horrendous. However... I was jumping from one point to another in absolute haste to help as many as I could. And the deaths kept increasing. Such a well done ending quest. I was a little shaken and that was brilliant!

It's amazing how Archon Quest Chapter V Act IV managed to get everyone to forget how heavily Natlan dropped the spaghetti on the overworld actually selling the "constant war with the abyss" (sending five people who get resurrected if they die). I think there was a clear through line with the 5.1 story drawing a contrast between the invasion and the faux war that had been ongoing for the past 500 years, but they didn't really do that at all.

At this point, I wonder what Snezhnaya is about. Hope it gets bleaker and more depressing.

omg i felt that part at the end about using your best built characters. Usually for story stuff I try to use characters that fit into the story somehow or the traveler but after it started to get bad I swapped to all my mains cuz I wanted to try and win the fights as fast as I could!

Welcome to Hoyoverse =) This is a classic tactic of theirs. They first show you the happiness you take for granted and then take it away from you cruelly, but most of the time the story ends in a bitter-sweet fashion because the characters in the story fight their way through depression.

Natlan being cancelled went trending on twitter and had VAs clocking mihoyo causing some to be fired, the character designs being deemed the most underwhelming of any nation by majority of the player base, to then the people in Natlan being slaughtered by the abyss in a huge battle… Natlan is really going through it. I guess we should’ve taken it being dubbed the “Nation of War” way more seriously 😭

While I do agree clearly that the Children of Echoes takes inspirations from Mayan cultures, the People of the Springs Polynesians, and the Scions of the Canopy the Quechuans (specifically the Incas), I see the Masters of the Night-Wind being inspired by Aztec culture, the Flower-Feather Clan the Native Americans, and the Collective of Plenty being Africa and Aboriginal Australia
