so glad I found you. We are definitely on the same page. I reversed my super high blood pressure (178/115) with a whole plant food diet, Salt, oil, sugar free. just a couple of months after eating this way, my blood pressure dropped to 98/60. 9 years later it's still 90's/60's. No Pills just Plants. Now, like you, I help people live this lifestyle. Love your videos.

Nice video. It always helps to find out the correct pronunciation of the cities and places. For instance it isn't Ko Kwell....it is pronounced Ko-keeel. And The amazing rock you called the wizard is actually called Wizard's Hat Rock. I have a spot of land there maybe about 600 yards from that rock, up on the cliff. Very nice video though...must have been fun for you. I hope so. The Oregon coast is one of the most beautiful places on planet earth IMO. Thanks again!

There is a small error at the start. When you are crossing the Columbia River on the Astoria-Megler Bridge, you are already on U.S. Route 101. Another error: Seaside once had a boardwalk, but it was replaced in 1920 with a promenade ("The Prom") made entirely of concrete. There is no "w" in Nehalem.
@PlantBasedJan26 күн бұрын
Thanks for catching those! I appreciate the additional info and clarifications for others reading the comments. The Nehalem pronunciation was because we have a NeWhalem in Washington. It’s the gateway to North Cascades National park. So, my default is to say it that way. 😉

"Every" town on the Oregon coast???? You missed a few. I'm sure the fine folks of Florence appreciate the nice miss of their town. And Winchester Bay.... You were showing areal shots of the marina in Winchester Bay and calling it Reedsport. They are close, but not that close. No mention of North Bend either. Yes, you said the name Florence and you showed the welcome sign for North Bend but you didn't even mention them. no mention of Lakeside (not missing much there) but you missed it none the less. You also didn't separate Brookings from Harbor which is the name of the "Last" town before you enter California. You have made a wonderful video but you failed on the "Every Town" part. And, how do you pronounce Yachats correctly but not Yaquina Bay or Coquille? LOL
@PlantBasedJan28 күн бұрын
Thanks for the detailed critique! I think my GPA just went down a notch. If you read some of the comments you'll see that the Florence miss created some furious (yet friendly) feedback. I will have to fire - then rehire - the editor for these errors. It's just me doing these so all I can do is try better next time. Thanks for watching! I appreciate it.

I've watched a few great videos of this amazing off-pavement trek. But, I gotta say, my own trek 25 years ago there started in Escalante UT and went "down" to Bullfrog ... and the breathtaking views as you drive downhill are way better than those people are taking going up the trail. I highly recommend starting in Escalante. Just check before going ... that last river crossing before hitting pavement again was flooded the night before I went, a Jeep stuck up above axels in fresh mud, and I had to backtrack about 25 miles upriver to find a "dry" crossing, across boulder the size of extra large beachballs. Slow, rough going, but fun. Oh, and 4 hours later, I checked on the dude stuck in the mud as I passed back by on the other side ... still stuck.

I thoroughly enjoyed your Oregon Coast video. You have a great talent for highlighting key points. My wife and I live near Sacramento and want to relocate due to heat, water shortages, and fires. We've visited Crescent City and Brookings, but had trouble getting insurance in Crescent City. We're hoping you can help us find the perfect Oregon Coast city based on our preferences: Evergreen trees Organic gardening (45-75 degrees Fahrenheit) Small rivers Beaches Pesticide/chemical-free zones Plant-based eateries (a plus!) Warm communities Reasonable sun for Oregon We were planning an Astoria trip, but after your video, we're open to other options. Thank you for your time. We look forward to hearing from you! Daren

Your relocation list is a great starting point! I don’t live in Oregon but I know many viewers do. I’m hoping they can jump in with some feedback and options for criteria like ‘welcoming communities’. That’s always a bonus but hard to figure out without some real experience. Have you thought about spending some time in the different areas? Home hunting is hard work - you’ll need some beach relaxation time factored in. 😁

Thx again for a great Video! Really comprehensive... and understandable. You covered the whole area. A lifetime ago (late '90s), my friend and I did a guided six-day Rubber Ducky rafting trip on the Salmon. Quite the wild ride, each of us in our individual boats, sitting right at water level. A little bit terrifying ;) At one point or another, everyone got thrown out of their boat -- except my friend and one guide. My friend is an athletic beast ;) On the sixth day, we landed at the confluence, turned in all our gear and got a jet boat ride back to Lewiston. I think I'm remembering it right. Incredible area. I've done a lot of river rafting over the years, including 13 days on the Grand Canyon. But my absolute favorite river is a one-day trip on the Lochsa (means Wild Water) in Idaho. The best!!! And fyi, I'm gonna make that Asian noodle salad. Looks so good :)

A week long trip on the Salmon would be a lifetime memory! WOW. And the person who is the best power swimmer stays dry - haha! You’ve got me inspired to check out the Lochsa River. Idaho is so gorgeous and wild, it’d be fun to spend a few summers floating and cruising around. If you make the salad, be sure to go big on the herbs and dressing. Game changer. 🥰.
