Sometimes I want to do it but I don't want to make other women inconfortable such as if I veiled and they aren't they would feel inconfortable being less covered than me.

I veil at an Antiochian church it's wild how many renarks I've had. It was me and another older lady and slowly some of the youngwr ones have started veiling as well. It was pressing against my instinct. And i listened and although i feared standing out. I'm glad i did. People get used to it. Just make sure you do it for the right reasons.

You are now my comfort KZbinr! Love your content. Do you mind me asking, were your parents Russian by descent and that’s why you grew up in the Russian Orthodox Church? Is your husband also cradle or convert?
@blessedpursuitofmotherhood8 күн бұрын
Thank you so much, Glory to God!🥰 So my grandparents converted in the 80s and raised my dad and his siblings in the church. My dad married my mom who converted. It also helps that my grandfather is a priest and we live close by his parish so we went to church a lot growing up. My husband is a convert.😊

To be honest, I had no idea that my prefered lifestyle would be considered counter-culture, but here we are and I'm ok with that. I find traditional roles more satisfying in the long run. There is balance in everything. I have no desire to compete with my husband in the workforce, and he has no desire to compete with my authority as being the homemaker.
@blessedpursuitofmotherhood8 күн бұрын
Yes that is true that there is a balance. And while being a stay at home mom can be challenging, I love it! I have seen more women choosing to stay at home, homeschooling, etc. so there definitely is a revival of this way of life. 😊

I like your video. Thanks for sharing, it's so important to stand strong in our faith. A few things that I do is I try to have friendships within my church community. I try to attend a Bible study or women's group at church for support. If it's difficult for your church community to form one maybe you can reach out to other Orthodox churches, even if they are far away, you can still ask if they can have you included over zoom or something like that for Bible study meetings or women's group meetings and such. Or maybe you can start one in your church. 😀🤗🙏God bless you, sister.

@blessedpursuitofmotherhood8 күн бұрын
That’s just one interpretation.
@rosegraham70458 күн бұрын
@ the bible interprets itself. You can wear one or not wear one, it’s up to the heart of the woman. That being said I think it’s beautiful and may do it if I choose or if God should lead me to do that. 😊

Hi there! As an Orthodox Christian, I'm not sure how faith, humility, and service are inherently feminine virtues, but rather virtues that all Christians should pursue, regardless of gender. God bless!
@blessedpursuitofmotherhood11 күн бұрын
Hi, yes that is true. While I am mainly aiming this video for women, I’m not trying to imply that’s it’s just women who need to have these virtues. Of course, every Christian should strive to have virtues like this. However, I have a specific audience that I try to provide inspiration and encouragement for and that happens to be mostly other women. May God Bless you as well!!

Hi there! im looking into becoming a convert, I was wondering if you had a nice list of female saints? I can only find a very few like Mary of Egypt is the main one, I understand the importance of male saints but i would like to feel a little more connected to a woman saint if that makes sense? Thank you! im watching all of your videos to learn!
@blessedpursuitofmotherhood13 күн бұрын
I completely understand! A good place to look for some female saints is Orthochristian.com. They’ve got a calendar on there that lists specific saints, male and female, and what days they are commemorated. Some of the women saints who are inspiring to my are: St. Elizabeth the New Martyr, St. Olga of Kyiv, St. Barbara, St. Bridget, St. Justina, St. Juliana the Merciful, St. Thekla, St. Olga of Alaska, St. Lydia of Phillipi, St. Isidora Fool for Christ, St. Alexandra the Royal Martyr and her daughters, St. Sophia and her daughters Saints Hope, Love, and Faith. There are many more, but those are just some off of the top of my head!☺️ May God bless you!!💕☦️

I started to attend a brethren church and started to veil about a year now. It was very new to me, but after much study I understood Gods ordinance about veiling. At first it took time to feel comfortable, but once you understand its meaning…makes it easier. I also have family that don’t understand. But I answer to God, not people. I came out of some wrong doctrinal churches, in which my Lord directed me. I thank God for his mercy and grace. It’s been 47 years of following my Lord. Never too old to grow in the Lord. Sadly, many churches do not teach on veiling. Some say it’s a cultural thing, which is not scriptural. Thanks for sharing your scarves…beautiful. I wear veils and sometimes a beret. But the veils do feel more feminine.
@blessedpursuitofmotherhood13 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing your story! Yes, it is sad that veiling of often stereotyped as just cultural or a sign of oppression even. I also think it’s beautiful and makes me feel more feminine!! May God bless you!💕
@BlakebyDesign15 күн бұрын
These are all beautiful reasons to veil, I also find the blessed reasons of veiling to be a reminder that we are the bride awaiting with the lamp for the Bridegroom. And also it is a type of blessed hug from our Triune Father. (I feel under the shadow of His wing when veiled) And a type of Grace surrounds when veiled which is awe inspiring in blessed humility.😭🩷☦️

@blessedpursuitofmotherhood17 күн бұрын
Yes, I was baptized as an infant. I’m no priest of course, but I think some of the best things to do is pray that your children will stay in the Orthodox Faith.
@blessedpursuitofmotherhood24 күн бұрын
Yes, that is true! I also did a KZbin short on different types of head coverings, including a hat. It should be whatever is comfortable, I grew up in the Church so I think it’s certainly more comfortable for me to do then maybe an inquirer or convert for instance.☺️

Isn’t veiling something invented by men rather than God?
@blessedpursuitofmotherhood25 күн бұрын
God has invented men and God has taught men and God has implanted in men’s hearts His Law in the sense of good and evil. So not all things done by men are contradictions of God’s Law or God’s Will.

It is known that women have veiled and covered themselves for most of history and now it’s something that has been lost in our modern days. I believe that it’s a beautiful practice that’s been forgotten.
@leonela872114 күн бұрын
1 Corinthians 11 talks about a women “ought” to have authority over her head, this word ought a synonym meaning “have to”. There are many arguments out there for whether or not the “covering” of the women head means a physical covering or just a metaphor, I recommend you watch the video Mike Winger has on this! He covers all the interpretations. To be a believer is to believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, therefore believing that what Paul said is actually God will.
@claesvanoldenphatt997210 күн бұрын
While not myself believing veiling is necessary your question is one of those typical Protestant jibes that goes nowhere. You should save it.
