What sets Vland apart is the double up like at 6:11. Or at least so it seems from my POV, never having been there.

That girl is me.❤ I had just started dating Mark McNaught and he took me on this surf trip out in the ocean on an island is all I knew about it at the time😅 We had a blast.

Todos Santos November 1991 organized by Zeldo / International Surf Magazine. We spent the weekend on the island and slept in the lighthouse. Epic guy - Skip (can't remember his last name) was running tours. Donovan blowing our minds. I'm guessing he was only 18 yrs old. Rad to have come across this video and remember the trip like it was yesterday.

Better days in HB! Localism in full effect, no kooks or housewives in the water. No hotels. Main street was punk rock. Now its filled with yuppie assholes....no sole left at all.

Im pretty young, dope seeing this footage. It feels like it used to be so popular back then. Only time I see more than 1-2 people if there is any at all is when it’s pumping.

man , kooks, people couldn’t surf back then. Half turns, weak wraps, don’t think it was the boards as much as talent. Weird.

I'm claiming people had better style back then and did more rail to rail turns. Not skipping all the hits and just flopping up and down waiting for the last section for the air. Also people were not sinking and missing waves by trying to look cool riding a 5,6.
