Now bare in mind that I'm disabled. Your blue one is something I would use sitting down at the fire. I did that this year using the cheap hobo freight hatchet and a hand held sledge to drive it through the logs. I can still split the normal way but not for very long at a time.

It’s probably a knockoff, mate. Most of them are here in Europe. There are decent surplus axes out there though. I know the Swedish ones are good and the Dutch did a 2kg.

Just got mine for 770 out the door thats the sore dick deal of the day you just cant hardly beat it i plan to unpin the beam and cylinder from the tank and attach it to my mini excavator ill be able to buck the rounds leave them on the ground and split them to the size i want before picking them up on the last split holding it over a container to catch the wood only time ill ever pick up a piece of wood is to pull it out of the bin and load it into the fire

Exactly. Sadly trying to get some people to understand the difference between loaded rear tires/wheel weights vs counterweight is a lost cause. Counterweight actually takes weight OFF the front axle. Not to mention it is in the owners manuals.

The threads will wear out and result in some slight play in the hole. High hardness helps but most pins are meant to have a smooth surface on each hole for the sake of smooth wear patterns. They design them assuming it's being used in the most abrasive sands with negligent lubrication. Use the longer bolts with a smoother pin surface and cut them down with an angle grinder or torch. Try to clean the threads with a die if you can find one.
@skywatcherranchswr19 күн бұрын

@criticalevent19 күн бұрын
I'd say buy the 8" if it has a longer smooth shoulder on it, cut the threaded end down as needed but drill a hole for a cotter pin first so you don't have to rely on the nuts staying tight.
@burtreynolds314319 күн бұрын
I don't think the nuts coming off are anything to worry about. The way the quick coupler holds them, they should stay put. I agree the smooth shank is better if it extends into both holes so, I'd buy 8, 10, 12 in. bolts: whichever has enough smooth shank extending into the second hole. Grade 8 are hard so, the bucket is more likely to deform before them, the threads possibly digging in to the bucket, making them hard to remove, if you'd ever need to.
@schultp13 күн бұрын
I like this idea. It may not matter but I would want a smooth section completely across the entire internal dimension. Also, having enough thread exposed would allow for a nylock nut.

These do not stop working at 44 F. They work quite well, actually. Radiant heaters like the Little Buddy, heat the objects and you, not the air. Once the objects are warm, they radiate heat and warm the air. You really should learn how to operate your heaters before you try to make a video showing others.
@skywatcherranchswr20 күн бұрын
@LyleBialk correct, if there's a heat source and propane stays above -44f it will produce vapor. Propane tanks in the far north often have to have tank heaters otherwise they won't produce vapor if it's below -44f ambient
