The nuance in Randy's technique was as different from others as his skillset. The same still reigns true today.

Jerry Rice has the stat numbers, incredible work ethic, and Super Bowl rings. NOBODY is going to catch Jerry Rice. But Randy Moss is the most athletic, most talented wide receiver to ever played in the NFL. "Randy Moss was a freak of nature." -Terrell Owens "Once Randy Moss put that hand up, it was over. He changed the game." -Deion Sanders "You could not cover him. Number 84 was a bad dude." -Keyshawn Johnson
Moss changed the NFL He’s one of the most misunderstood football players in NFL history in addition to being a top 3 receiver all time I love watching 84 play

I LOVED the 1970s Vikings, was a huge Chuck Foreman fan. But watching this clip reminded me that I’m not dreaming… Chuck - and all Vikings backs and receivers that followed him - lead the universe in being caught and hauled down inside the 5-yard-line!

No doubt Randy Moss is the greatest wide receiver in history. He could still play today. He keeps his self in shape. The man kicked a field goal on Monday night count down a few years ago. If he had Tom Brady for 4 or 5 years he could easily be the all time touch down wide receiver leader. He didn't have Tom Brady but a full year and a half. When he broke Jerry Rice single season touch down record Jerry Rice said that Randy Moss was more talented. He was 6'4" Jerry was 61 6'2. Randy Moss is the best ever.

had the hands and body control of a good tight end and was as elusive a back as any that ever played he caught deep passes not the typical RB swing pass and screen passes . There are worse RB's in the HOF and Foreman was doing the Bill Walsh West Coast Offense a decade before the 49rs but losing all four SB s

I am a WEST VIRGINIAN and I was fortunate enough to see MOSS in the HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL HI-LIGHTS on FRIDAY NIGHT. It was clear, EVEN THEN, that no one had ever seen such a talent. I predicted then, that MOSS would go down in history as the greatest football in the history of the game. I still say that if the coaches had ever truly understood what he was, then MOSS would have been even better than whatever records he did set. Still, he only barely touched the very tip of what he was. MOSS, the GREATEST OF ALL TIME.

Adrian Peterson will not be denied cause he was a force to be reckend he was awesome to watch 2007 nfl draft he was a 1st Round 7th overall University of Oklahoma i do miss him he will be in the Hall Of Fame real soon 2007 Rookie of the year he had 296 rushing yards vs Chargers it was one of if not the one of the greatest single game performance in NFL's History he won the 2012 NFL's MVP he became the 2nd RB to rush for 2,000 yards in a season i understand he did win or play in his 1st Super Bowl Title but it's not his fault let alone he won't be haunted of the things he didn't do like win a super bowl or another 2,000 yards but he was still the G.O.A.T at the Running Back for sure 0:35

Propaganda piece. This video does not demonstrate great route running. Most of these are curved, arched routes. Randy Moss does not have great short space agility which is why he's not great at tight routes that require greater quick twitch agility. You can talk about how smart Randy Moss is all day but you can't say he's a great route rinner because he doesn't have fluid hips and short space agility for that. This is why he was so often shut down in the playoffs when higher quality defenses that could rush the passer and took the top of the field away from him he had no answer for that and quite honestly could be taken out of the game mentally once he realized he was not going to have big yardage catches down there field. He was not willing to put in the work it takes against great defenses to consistently work the short and mid yardage routes all day to set up the big play against them.
@ifheavenwashuman21 күн бұрын
I've been trying to mentally contextualize exactly what you just said for years. Perfectly said. For example, Randy rarely ever changed levels during his routes. Everything was very upright. He didn't get in and out of his breaks as well as some of the other all-time greats did. He was excellent in slow to fast speed changes, but rarely would you ever see him go fast to slow, to explode again in order to freeze defenders. I'm glad someone finally identified that. Good eye. 🤝

Wheres the myth busting video that he doesn't slouch and take plays off?
@bsdavis01110 ай бұрын
First and foremost the video proof he didn’t slouch or take plays off was seen and verified by the voters that deemed him a first ballot NFL Hall of Fame football player, the first WR since Jerry Rice to go in on the first ballot. There are no slouches or players who take plays off anywhere in the NFL let alone the NFL HoF. Why do you feel the need to keep pushing this ridiculous narrative? You are commenting on a video of Moss blocking, now I am certain you have never seen these blocks before, numerous times Moss is running 50-60 yards to make blocks for teammates yet you still ask for video proof he doesn’t slouch & take plays off. I was not a fan of Larry Bird but when someone ask me who I believe are the top basketball players of all time you better believe I’ve got Larry Bird near the top of my list. Numerous times I saw NFL DC put two players on Moss when he split wide as if he was a punt gunner. He was routinely double covered, stopping Moss was the goal of DCs game plans every week they opposed him, no one would give this attention to a slouch who takes plays off. Be reasonable, man, let go of the hate and enjoy video of, arguably, the most feared WR in NFL history.

I'm a lifelong Chicago Bears fan and to watch Randy Moss was like watching Deon Sanders, Barry Sanders and the great Walter Payton in their prime. He was unstoppable. No one could contain him. His speed. I watched the Thanksgiving game against the Cowboys in 1998 and Randy was a blur on the screen. I wish Chicago would've drafted him instead of Cade McKnown. Oh how we let Randy slip in that draft.

@marksmith4346 Жыл бұрын
He was frustrating to watch as a fan of other teams, ball was away from his body and/or in the wrong hand and you would go, okay here we go, fumble. No...oh well, they got him anyway, oh, spin, okay, there go that man again. Plus, he would get to someone and break down for a move and the blocker would come to help and he wouldn't necessarily go to the blockers back and you'd think, what are you doing stupid...and of course he was setting up the next defender, not really worried about the one closest to him. I was hoping he would finally get the Vikes over the hurdle in the Superbowl but the Raiders beat him relentlessly.

Chris Carter was a master at pushing off the defenders to get himself open he taught Randy Moss this skill in The Freaks rookie season Randy was the most talented Receiver in the history of the NFL why he never won a Super Bowl I blame that on coaching and management the vikings could have and should have won multiple Super Bowls during Randy Moss's time in Minnesota and they should have never traded him away but the owner and coach at the time got their egos hurt when Randy complained about the vikings offense and coaching and game plans they said we will show you and traded him away to one of the worst teams in the league at that time the Oakland Raiders
