I actually built this kit in 1975, kit was fun, but did not fly that well.

I spent my years between 9 and 14 building Planes and doing the same. It was always a thrill to see the planes fly at random.

Excellent build! I really like the way you made the custom cowl
@Delano1226 Жыл бұрын
I’m currently building this model, wondering if you can share how you built the model for the nose cowl to come off and on? The directions only say to use plastic cement to attach the cowl on. Thanks!

Very good job, but it seems a little bit heavy isn’t it

I've seen "Old Yeller" parked at Long Beach (KLGB) once, back in the early '80s. Nice Model!!!!!!

Why do so many of these videos think they need annoying and distracting music covers? Just show us the stuff!

You did a great job! Nowadays, over here, you can get arrested for flying in a park along with a huge fine.

My favorite model. What a combination, Cessna and rubber power. WOW!

It's a beautiful little plane but that's the worst music I've ever heard . Imitation AC DC . Why ?
@martinlagrange88213 жыл бұрын
Beautiful ! I am interested to see it as finished as a USN aircraft - I would have imagined it finish as a JMSDF one (as they were used in 1950s -1960s) in all-nave blue would have looked amazing too.

Loved building these as a kid. Didn't look or fly like yours, but still a blast. I'm going to convert one to RC but you still can't beat the wonder of free flight. Thanks for this and great job!

Hello! What a great plane you built! Congrats! I'd love to try and make one myself. Do you think you could share a copy of the plan? Please let me know. Thanks so much in advance! :)

All the Gullows planes I ever built were bricks. How'd you make that?
@Glicksman13 жыл бұрын
Not providing R/C assist is a recipe for disaster. After building such a fine model to risk losing it as seen here is foolish.

Sir, you are truly an exceptional aeromodeller. My name is Les McDonald, 3 times F2B World Champion and I am totally impressed with your building and trimming skills.
@bobgreen31163 жыл бұрын
Wow. To have Les McDonald praise your building skill is something else. I remember his absolutely gorgeous black and white stiletto control line airplane. It was a true work of art. It had the "Best" finish on it and I would guess it was painted with dope back then. What a airplane. ❤❤👍👍

I am extremely impressed. I’ve build scores of Guillows kits, balanced them, and made them very light, but none ever flew well at all. A big part is I mostly made fighters which were inherently dynamically unstable designs with horrible glide ratios, whereas the Cessna is about as stable a design as could exist. The best I did was with the WW I biplanes which glided well. I could launch them from my grandma’s roof, and they’d glide straight in a very shallow dive about 50’. Very, very impressive.
