I tried Yu-Gi-Oh once this year just to never go back again. I think the most toxic main TCG cards in existante is Heartstone and this game. The life stealing mechanics of heartstone with Druid and death living, and the sacrifice to summon on Yu-Gi-Oh.. is pure cancer. I lost to a guy with 1 card continous trap. This game is cancer

I got two friends to play for a little bit, but because of how the meta is and it's not in that 2010 ish kinda power level the game just ends up making people mad I've noticed.

i still think the cards should just have a little stamp or something at the bottom of the card to tell you the rarity. at least with some of the quarter century cards theres a big 25th quarter century logo in the card text

Ahh you’re actually missing a deck from here. It had so much potential that it got banned within a week and really could not be stopped and it had a 93.45% pick rate. Blue-Eyes level eater ftk was very unfair and dirty because it could summon out cannon soldier and link of into other creatures to link climb and constantly summon more creatures to give cannon soldier it’s ammo. The deck only had exactly one week to live before level water and cannon soldier both got banned together to prevent this from reaching worlds. The best part about this is that I created this ftk.

Some of those holos are also available in commons. Decks shouldn’t cost that much. Unless you just wanna show off 🤷🏻‍♂️

felt table has one piece tcg a.i for beginners to learn. The sim is great but bad for people who dont know the rule. Felt table is seriously the bomb. Hope they add more tcgs to the felt table sim

every time i go to the store i look at cards and am only willing to buy ones from the 3rd season or before only thing i look forward to now is yugiohs death so my cards are worth more like my 1996 first edition blue eyes

if they are desperate then stop with the changes yugioh just sucks now i did quit for 3 years and came back to a mess why did they have to change the whole game with these variants just make new monsters and effects without changing the game its honestly boring now i hate having to wait for 10 cards to reach the board just so they can play 1 and its so overpowered if i dont have a specific card its unbeatable even some 4 star cards have better effects than the god cards which are supposed to be the strongest in the game but are now just a novelty i can play my 1 card and half if not all go back into the deck so just get rid of tributes then i have to just wait to be trashed, only way i can beat that crap is to play that crap i must be old i guess i dont use anything before the 3rd season or after DSOD because it used to be about skill now its about flashy moves that work to draw in dumb people with no attention span the game i loved as a kid is dead theres a reason pokemon has done so well they change the region and pokemon but now how its played each person gets a turn and 1 attack been that way for years they even still use the same characters like ash and add new ones yugioh now says bye new MC new rules new game new franchise basically. i honestly bet live tournaments suck now too because the ref has to explain the effects its gonna sound like an auction 10 minutes each turn up to 20 or so turns im sure they hate it because most are volunteers all i ask is for them to make a section exclusive to classic duels with classic cards and rules

My friend quit because their ex stolen all of their rares, ghost rares, etc. Angry, they sold the rest of their cards for $250 and quit. Before that, their $300 deck was stolen three times from friends and people they trusted. They couldn’t find a reason to go back, since they used a banished deck.

what i really loved about OP so far: I could build a full battlebox of thematically fitting & working, yet equally strong decks. And since the whole meta cards are ignored over there and thanks to The Best, it was dirty cheap to build it. Perfect for a casual base.

My experience with TCG's is too short. I come from MTG and I really liked the game but as soon as I discovered that I had to pay almost 3 One Piece decks to get a descent MTG deck and try to win a game in my local store I dropped the game and stick to One Piece and my life is better now hahaha

Ever since I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh in my childhood, I recently started collecting One Piece cards a few months ago. The hit rates are really solid, the designs are super nice, and the game itself is easy to understand. You can jump right in, even if you haven’t touched a TCG in 10 years! Plus, I’ve had crazy luck so far - already pulled 2 Manga Rares!

I'm running a pure Tistina deck. It's terrible but I've made it work. I got about a 50/50 win with it.

They can't even try to balance their game, so i doubt they will do anything at this point other than mil kthe game as much as they can and then, move to Rush Duels.

This seems to be the retro format i'd pick up as someone who doesn't like how fast yugioh is now. Looking at the cardpool, i see 2 pendel cards, are they at all useable/consistent?

i got back into the game and ill tell you exactly why it cant get new players. its not fun. learning beatdown and android decks was fun. learning chaos was kinda fun, learning goat was fun. learning lightsworn blackwing gagaga frogs pendulums cyberse link....not fun...not fun at all and not creative. playing only a few premade decks because everything else is useless in the meta...not fun at all....the game is in this sort of late stage state where the power creep pretty much makes most cards useless and most of the people who have been playing forever just play lightsworn for edison or latest meta for latest and thats that. basicly the game is at a dead end and creative deck building is over

I played and loved Yugioh when I was a kid, but I stopped playing shortly before 5Ds or so. I tried to get back into it not too long ago and ultimately gave up. For me, the major issues I had was the card text is just atrocious at least for the tcg. It's so hard for me to read most times. That and modern yugioh has changed a lot, it doesn't feel as interactive as it used to, mostly just build an unbreakable board and watch them scoop. Rarely does it feel like a back and forth game. I guess I just like the slower slug fest that old yugioh could provide. Not the hyper fast you can't interact, overly complex or annoying summoning mechanics we currently have.

One of the best pieces of data I found for OP is that the worst leader in the game has a 34% W/R and the best was like 55%. Imagine those kind of margins in Yugioh. The worst decks in yugioh have a literal 0% WR against the best decks. Not just that, even decks that are a year or two old could easily have a <1% WR due to the differences in power. These kind of numbers show how unbalanced ygo is as a game and why it’s not fun for a significant number of players.

a 2025 re-release-remake would be nice since its getting worse again especially with the lack of Structure decks and ongoing powercreep compaared to rogue strategies for example I feel like Memento fell into this category.

Drop Yugioh, Bonanza reprints retire me, my collection drop alot and Yugioh is a pay to win game, excellent mechanics and suoer duper hard and competitive but game just broke in the last 3 years. Never regret for get in on One Piece game.
