Pat is so correct. Just go outside and get in the sunlight, walk around and look at nature. This isn’t hocus pocus granola hippie logic. The way you feel when your mind is allowed to operate automatically without outside forces causing disruptions is amazing. I get my kids out as much as possible especially my 14 year old son. He’s following in dad’s footsteps and joining the Air Force when he’s done with high school. He’s extremely interested in bushcraft survival stuff along with weapons and tactics. I teach him all the basics to survive that I know. Weapons training is basic but he’s proficient. Tactics wise, I’m Air Force and didn’t operate lol, so he can have someone teach him later on the correct way if he gets into the desired career field he wants. Appreciate you guys.

Sounds like he would have a great time as a SERE Specialist.

Great video. Agree on all points. Camping is so healthy for the soul. You are right on about the weather. I just did a 2 night camp. Temps were forecasted to be 57 overnight. Rain came in and it ended up getting down to 33.

Great ideas on here. The Helinox chair is awesome. I've put wider feet on mine because of sinking into sand and soft soil. An old dog food bag works great for a chair footprint also. Scrubz are great for feeling clean, better than wet wipes.

I often listen to your podcasts of the Endurance and Lewis and Clark while on a hike. Hearing those stories helps motivate you on to those few extra miles.

Wool socks and base layers will be your best friend if you are camping or hiking.

Great advice as always! As for footwear, what higher top boots do you recommend that aren't waterproof? It's so hard to find a boot that has a stiffer sole and not be waterproof.

Anyone asks me about camping…just try it. The guy on the corner down on his luck…has to camp. You can enjoy it anytime with cool gear to see the world in a controlled way, let’s try it. One night

Not. If you have to close in your toes. Always be ready to run and jump and protect those toes
