You should consider getting an N52 engine. It will swap right in and makes a lot more HP compared to the older M54. Could be bit more fragile though is you intend to supercharge later on. The SI variant of the 3l makes about 264bhp here in the UK. Peach of an engine. Luv and Peace.
@ianedmonds91913 сағат бұрын
I'm from the UK so not sure exactly what E85 is but i'm guessing it's some higher octane fuel less prone to pre-ignition. I think if the tune you had previously had retarded timing before any engine pinking then there probably won't be much extra power if any. That said you can now probably get a lot more aggressive in your tune with cam timing now the fuel is less prone to pre-ignition. Luv and Peace.

You may have already got some lightweight wheels, but if you don’t that could help your times as well as your differential. Also the traction control programming is there to minimize one tire fire and save the diff and the only real way to get around leaving it off is to have more tire width on all driven tires. No wheel spin = better time
@michaelblacktree8 сағат бұрын
Good points. I don't have lightweight wheels yet, but it's on the list. Also, the next video will cover the LSD install. 😎

Thanks for the Vid. I installed a unit from Aliexpress. Looks exactly the same. Only problem has been the steering wheel controls. There is no Mode button on the stereo. On yours (or anyone else) did the mode work? I was able to get into the factory settings as well with a code I foiund on youtube but still cant get the mode to work. When I program it in to anything else the stereo does weird things with the volume up and down. I can verify you can get almost the same system for about $100 shipped from ali as of now. So far working well. Tip. make sure you get the 68ohm resistor and not a 68k like I did at first.

One thing to note about this having just one this. The video mentions that the drive axle should be removed from the transmission, however all that NEEDS to happen is the drive axle coming apart from the wheel hub/knuckle/carrier what have you, which is a lot simpler than removing the axle from the transmission.
@michaelblacktree6 күн бұрын
I decided I would rather detach it from the transmission. But you can do what you want.
@tyueda42855 күн бұрын
@@michaelblacktree right right. What I'm getting at is that you can easily do this job and just remove the 30mm 12point axle nut from the wheel rather than have to go through the pain of removing all 6 triple square nuts on the transmission side of the axle. Again, do it however you want, but boy do I avoid having to remove those axle nuts like the plague. :)

I would like to talk more about this. I have a 94 camaro with the 3.4 I don't want to give up on. Care to talk when you get time? If so, how to do it?
@michaelblacktree16 күн бұрын
My email address is in my profile. Please be patient, because I don't have a lot of free time. That said, if you're curious about camshafts, basically anything that'll fit a 2.8 V6 will also fit a 3.4. And some aftermarket companies still make cams for the 2.8. Just keep in mind the 3.4 will want a more aggressive cam than a 2.8. So for example, a stage 3 cam for the 2.8 will act like stage 2 in the 3.4. Hope that helps.

If you want more mileage you need a thinner oil, so you are not losing horsepower to pump and pump oil. Additives may help for wear and for the starting moment, when there is no oil pressure or oil in the bearing space. Otherwise you need a fuel that is more energy dense or increase your combustion temperature, which will have your car create unallowed amounts of NOx.
