14:23 I don't think it's due to TPMS measurement error. Your tire pressure pump is monitoring the upstream pressure. It will get to 36 PSI, while the downstream pressure will be 35psi just because of the pressure drop caused from line length and airflow. If you can set pressures, add 1psi to account for the drop.

Have you ever seen a 3 on the tree with a reverse knob in the floor? I have a feeling mine is a 4 speed swap but I just can't find the 4th gear. Did it ever come from factory like that? It's a 72 g10. I can't find any information anywhere other than people talking about 4 speed swaps
@lukeFugate

I have never heard of that. Seems like something someone has made. Could be interesting if it turns out to be a four speed. Should be able to identify the transmission by the bolt pattern on the shift cover.

I learned to drive in my grandparents 72 C10. After my grandmother passed away PawPaw gave it to me about 1 year before he passed. It had been in my family as long as i can remember and the only thing i wanted to do was restore it. I started buying parts here and there until i nearly had everything as far as sheet metal, interior and wiring. I went to the river for a couple of days and when i came home my truck was gone. I called and made a police report then with the help of family and friends searched everywhere we could think of. Long story short a crackhead had stolen it and took it to the scrapyard because in Alabama you dont need to have a title after so many years.

It was sure nice to be driving her again. I've put probably about 50 miles on her since adding the thicker oil. Third gear is virtually silent now and second isn't too bad as long as it has pressure on it. I found as rebuild kit on Amazon which is new bearings and seals, Also includes new synchronizers. I think I'll try it out and see if I can rebuild it. I just hope the gears are not worn too badly.
@dsteele27

with 600,000 miles on it, you've gotta expect some wear on the gears ... hopefully just not enough to be the problem

@dsteele27 yeah I'm sure they will show some wear. For $150, it would be worth trying the rebuild kit just to see if I can save the original transmission. After driving her again, though, the 5 speed that I have laying around looks pretty good, lol.

@lukeFugate
@lukeFugate Ай бұрын
Hope not. I haven't seen any evidence of that. the metal under the dash seems to be just bare metal, so no protection on it. There is a lot of moisture in this area, maybe it has rusted since it has been here. Funny part is, the rest of the truck isn't very rusty at all compared to other Dodges in this area. Most of them at least have the bedsides and rockers rusted out.

Before fiberglass the nacent rec boating industry and new England lobster fishermen used pmf over wood decks wnd superstructure (not boat hull) because it was more durable than paint or varnish that required regular maintenance and replacement between 1-3 years in New England weather depending on use intensity.... I’d love to see foam skinned with uncoated breathable 1oz ripstop nylon and WBPU and/or titebond compared to regular duck canvas and wood glue PMF, for super ultralight applications like pedal powered bike campers
@JustMeBlindFreddy
@JustMeBlindFreddy 17 күн бұрын
You would need to be VERY careful about proper adhesion to the nylon. It would not absorb the glue and the adhesion would probably tear away. The essence of PMF (and the usual fibreglass) is that the adhesive gets into the material and is therefore mechanically bond as well.

These do not have a PCV valve. The closest there is to PCV is the tiny hole in the intake manifold. I did add a PCV valve to the oil cap, this and the cleaning seems to have fixed it.

195,000 miles on my 13 terrain. I use bardahl no smoke with stop leak. Reduces the oil consumption to about 1/10 a quart every thousand miles. Every 1000 miles as well remove the intake and clean the oil that collects inside the manifold. Car runs beautifully with a lil tlc.

I have used muslin and glue for “Dutchman” seams on theatre set designs, on a wood frame. I think that muslin would work even better than canvas or bed sheets. The only question I have is was the canvas and bedsheets washed and dried before using to prevent shrinking or if maybe shrinking would help tighten the cloth to the substrate? Muslin is very inexpensive and comes in wide enough widths that you can do large walls without seams.
