I come from a poorly educated lineage, both parents. They were not very academically adept, although my mother became an assistant manager at McDonald's Burger King and Hardee's over her years and my father became a stone tile setter. Both were hard workers, showed up early for work always on time, with good work ethic on both sides. However they divorced when I was perhaps two years old and I was a lone child for some 8 years till my brother was born out of wedlock to a father who could care less. My mother eventually married when I turned 11 and my brother what is 14 months at the time. She married a man that was attractive and made good money as a hedge against the bad choices she had made as a younger person. She had a third child 9 months after getting married. There was a stepbrother and stepsister in the mix also. Turns out the guy she married was a foul mouth and a bully, with a speech impediment. He was nice for about 1 month before he showed his true nature and was condescending add Maine to the children. Not trying to be accusatory because they did the best they could with what they had to work with. I was physically and mentally abused due to unstable personalities, however I was able to see at a young age some aspects of psychology I understood later in life. Although I'm not casting blame, I cannot pretend that the choices to improve themselves educationally were not within their grasp. I was a failed parent to my three children also karma in that I was a father too young and two and experience than life do not make too many mistakes. Now that I am 65 years old, I have a very good perspective on life. I have gained over 12 years of postsecondary training in Blue Collar skill sets. I am an autodidact polymath and enjoy learning and studying everyday. I'm at peace everyday in my heart due to the fact I'm a hard worker and good accomplishment maker. Truth to power it's not always blame, it helps plot the path for the future. I'm so far beyond where I started as a young adult after graduating military boot camp and then High School. I have great trust in my preferred deity and am calm about the afterlife. We are all born astride the grave and I am comfortable with that. Namaste, best wishes all.

Fixed genders isn't new. It's been that way since the dawn of time and they all knew it. That's why our species still exists to this day. They all knew it took a man and a woman to produce offspring. No other combination can do that.
