Shams got found out and trounced out of sight, No wonder they are known as Sham Rovers !!
@GouganeBarra-u4t2 күн бұрын
Hate to break it to you, but whatever other league of Ireland club you support would also have been thrashed by Chelsea. Nothing less than winning this competition would be acceptable to a top tier side like Chelsea. Only Man United have spent more on assembling a squad in England. You're talking over a thousand million. I think Chelsea will win the competition, and if they don't, Fiorentina will.
@Maradona-wr8su2 күн бұрын
Nobody calls them shams except Sligo that’s my first point. Who would have gotten further than Rovers from the LOI. There still in it. You’re an absolute Gobshite. The biggest and best run club in the country. Irelands number one. Fact. 4 leagues in a row. Twice in there history. Nobody near us in league titles or FAI cups. Go back to your Gaelic ye dope ye

I went with my son and the 'limbs' when we equalised is something that will go with me to the grave! It was a great experience for us and for Rovers. Stamford Bridge was impressive, 10k less capacity than the Aviva, but a stadium of character nonetheless and atmosphere. Facilities were great, you could get proper beer, food etc. Toilets bar etc were very nice, well kept. I was a little disappointed at how we kind of gifted Chelsea two goals, but at the same time, you really can't compare like with like. It was a real 'education' in the footballing sense of the word. I was saying to my young lad, how impressive the Chelsea defence were, how easy it all looked. Conference league is a great avenue for the League of Ireland. Hopefully, more than one team in a season can make progress like this in this competition! Had the added bonus of bumping in to Aaron Greene and family at the London eye the next day and on the flight home on Saturday! Happy Christmas Keith to you and all the Footy Vlogs family!

If we don't make those 2 mistakes, it's a totally different game. But it's something to build on before the KO stage. Went ballistic in the Shed when Poom's goal went in. Didn't even know who scored. I didn't care 😂
@johnharper63097 күн бұрын
Cheers keith. Not sure if there was communication by Pohls but Burns completlely at fault for 1st goal. Schoolboys taught not to play the back pass bwtween posts and that keeper should expect ball outside of post and if misplaced, corner worse scenario. Cleary poor for their 2nd but again Burns had a 1 v 1 on halfway and tirned back ti cleary, very poor feom cleary then. 4th cleary static and beaten by pace and height. Chelseas other 2 well taken and Rovers missed a few good chances, Cleary again. Looking forward to knockouts

St Pats should of released Christmas jumpers saying, “Santas Saints” 😅
@dazzer2737 күн бұрын
Chelsea are always expected to win that game but poor defending and ridiculous errors at the back really gifted an elite team in a game you can’t afford to hand out any freebies. Cleary was poor in my view and Kenny missed a sitter early on which could have seen rovers go 1 up. Fair play to the Rovers fans and let’s hope, hope the players and staff learn from this game and bring improvements into the playoff games.
@Beanbag7777 күн бұрын
I have never understood how Dan Cleary was a Rovers player and tonight just proved it. On the good side however I thought the Premier Sports commentators were incredibly knowledgeable, respectful, and positive about Rovers and the LOI in general. Well done Rovers all in all. Doing the league proud . More investment needed now pronto
@GouganeBarra-u4t7 күн бұрын
No shame in defeat. The gulf in class between the sides was obvious, no hiding from that fact. They were playing a team who expect to win the final. Rovers can look forward to the next match in the competition. They can hold their heads up high. Chelsea are playing in arguably the top league in Europe. They're ahead of Arsenal, Man City and Man Utd in that league. They will probably play Fiorentina or Real Betis in the Conference final. Their squad value is almost that of the other 31 teams combined... at over 1 thousand million euro. What annoys me is, that the knockers of league of ireland football will use the scoreline as ammunition to justify looking down on our league. Our league is as good as many in Europe, and when at their best can compete with many teams in Europe... bar those from the top 5 countries... England, Spain, Italy, France and Germany. Here's me hoping that Cork City will be playing in Europe after the coming season !
@Beanbag7777 күн бұрын
Or the Irish "Chelsea" fans knocking the league. One guy posted a tweet yesterday saying the LOI was a part time league. Thats how much they know about football in their own country !! I hope they heard the anti Irish abuse some of the Rovers players got taking corner kicks. Might make them think twice about following brit teams

Chelsea have a squad value of 1.4 Billion... Rovers will be grateful for 4 or 5 million from this competition. Chelsea will be looking to win the Conference League outright... Rovers are delighted just to reach the knockout stage. Chelsea are 1/14 ON with the bookies to win tonight... Rovers are 22/1. Liverpool are ahead of Chelsea in the world's top league at this stage, but nobody else is... and it's just before Christmas... while Rovers haven't even started their season yet. So for me, Rovers must go out and enjoy themselves in this match, because no one gives them a prayer of getting anything out of this match... not, even if, Chelsea play an understrength team. I look forward to it.

If Rovers are already losing Kenny & Farrugia wouldn't that be an argument for Greener not to move on? 8/10 seems a bit high to me. Surely, Bradley would like to keep at least a modicum of continuity in the Rovers front line! Rory Gaffney possibly to come back in but at 35y/o after a year on the sidelines who knows if he'll be able to come back properly at all at his age.

I'd give Keith a solid 8.25 under my complex Christmas Jumper rating system, which is still being refined, while Daz rates as 8.4 but to be honest, I don't typically award more than 8.80, it's a bit like some of those Olympic gymnastics scoring system. Anyway, Bohs would probably take Pierrot in a heartbeat if they can get good contract terms. Pierrot has shown he's willing to travel to further his career so maybe a Continental team might tickle his fancy but I'd love to see him in Dalymount. Interesting observation about him needing a second man up front but with Devoy, Tierney, Clarke and Rooney all attacking players who will press high, I'm not sure he needs someone else with him.
@IrishWarrior4310 күн бұрын
You have not been paying attention then on the Frantz front then. It's possible you were fine tuning your complex Jumper grading thingymagig... Frantz wouldn't run to warm himself and needed a sidekick up front to draw away defenders.... It appears he is off to Europe if reports are to be believed....

Talking about Towell loan deals and whether he's prepared to take a pay cut don't make any sense. His contract with rovers is over. He's a free agent. He won't get a third of the wage he robbed at rovers the past few years.

Just to let you all know. The 2025 Cork City home shirt is now available at the official Cork City store in Douglas Shopping Centre ( No.207 bus from Patricks Street ). And Cobh Ramblers have their new 2025 jerseys on show at their brand new merchandise store ( right in the town centre, below a large green building ). I'll be heading to Dublin in a few weeks to get the new Shels and Bohs home jerseys. Happy days !

Whyte & Ferguson both have decent Championship & League 1 experience and ofc Ferguson featured 23 time in the PL so great additions to the league but Whyte would be the big signing here, I think he could destroy teams down the right wing. Whyte has been out since late Aug and Ferguson since early July so I’m not sure what training they’ve been doing but would seem LOI makes more sense to come in and get a full pre season with the rest of the squad as opposed to the NIFL which will be soon approaching mid season.
@GouganeBarra-u4t21 күн бұрын
The Dubs have it easy. So many Dublin derbies, then the short trips to Bray and Drogheda. It's much tougher for Finn Harps, Cobh Ramblers, and Wexford. Travelling large distances for many of their away matches. What this video doesn't capture are the long trips you undertook to make this video. Longford to Derry... Sligo to Galway... Tralee to Cork... and Cobh to Waterford. All in a day... a huge well done ! Bet you were glad to see your beds.
@GouganeBarra-u4t21 күн бұрын
I bet you had fun trying to find Treaty Uniteds ground. I needed a taxi to get there. Cobh to Finn Harps is a savage journey. Finn Park is a bit run down though, as are sections of Dalymount Park. St Pats is my favourite away ground. Great video !
@GouganeBarra-u4t22 күн бұрын
My favourites are Drogheda, Finn Harps, Bray and Kerry. My least favourites are Cork, Waterford, and Galway. I like the Cobh Ramblers jersey too. Everybody has different favourites and least favourites. It's a matter of personal taste.

I'd go a step further, make it a bumper weekend of derby games and have a double header, Bohs vs Rovers and Shels vs Pats, could be an incredible showcase for the league, have 4 separate sets of fans in each stand. Could be chaos for the gards but would be incredible to see

When there's a high profile match at Turners Cross, there's over 3,000 at the match, but if it's say Bray or UCD, there are less than 2,000. The 1,000 or more fans who stay away are not true supporters. They're probably sitting on their arses watching Man United or Liverpool when they're playing on a Friday night.
