How to adjust if you at a small stakes FT with ICM punters?

I would say play tighter and use bigger RFI sizes when you are not the chipleader

Hi Brian, I do not, but I would suggest looking up Ryan O'Donnell...It looks like he has some free content on YT, and I know he's made a lot of videos on spins for PokerCoaching.com. I don't play spins, but I know he's legit and I trust he puts out very good content

one of the best poker presentations ive seen especially the use of GTOW. However as an old time coffee man with 20+ years playing, I can tell you one live read is totally wrong. The 20 second pained look in the lojack is 100% he's worried that if he lets the fart out he may follow through.

Thank you. I think your read is spot on...He played the following orbit like a man who was about to shit his pants

I appreciate the content, but this is not a podcast. It's a recurring KZbin series. Podcasts are distributed by RSS feeds to the devices of subscribed users. I'm not able to find this in my podcast app. Could you please make it into a podcast and distribute via RSS for easier consumption?

36:00 The sauna does something to my brain chemistry that combined with the lack of input makes me very relaxed and generates creative and interesting thoughts. I think stuff like Reddit and Twitter are really bad for me because switching between all those topics and opinions overstimulates me. The sauna is a great way to reset. Or sometimes I'll just turn off my phone for a day. I have that same curiosity, I like to say learning is my biggest hobby. It's a real problem that there are an infinite number of things to learn on the internet, so I need to be careful not to overindulge 😁

2:21:00 Really appreciate the view that the brain is just another human body part that fails from time to time. I think as a poker player it's even more common to identify with what your brain can do and to take pride in it.

46:00 "Enjoy the stories because it's fun" I think they will always take you out of your focus at some point. There is no benefit to fantasizing about winning or fearing to lose. You get attached to a certain outcome and when things go the other way you feel like you lost something. Best example is the feeling of going from chiplead to shortstack being different than being short the whole time. Your stack is the same, but because of your attachment to the story it feels different.
@JonathanJaffeGLHF11 күн бұрын
I think both of your examples are spot on, and I agree storylines will always steal some of your focus away from the task at hand, and this is harmful to an individual's pursuit of becoming a better player, but I don't agree that there is no benefit. I think the stories are a big part of why pretty much everyone with a passion for poker got into the game, and specifically a big reason that many people enjoy playing and looking forward to tournaments instead of cash. Somewhere there's a proper balance to find between doing our best to stay focused, and also trying to enjoy the moment. I think that equation/balance is different for everyone.

For some reason I remember Ben playing Isildur1 HU at the PLO cap tables and the game was psychotic. A twoplustwo post, in the highstakes thread, showing a cartoon baby Batman vs Ironman throwing money at eachother battle encapsulated the funny game it was.

I was an avid viewer of his streams back in the nolimitgg days. Was crazy to me how much better he was at the same age as me in poker. But I also connected on a few other things back then that I have now realized after watching this pod. The idea of being young and finding yourself in older groups at a young age really stuck with me. Hope to cross paths with him one day.
