I saw a video where they stored their Rice in a plastic bottle 2 liter that Pop comes in, they claim no need for oxygen absorbers in the bottles as the rice act as it's own oxygen absorber and that in a short time the sides of the bottles will suck in for that reason, do you have any comment on that or believe this is true or not, it definitely did not act as it's own oxygen absorber in the bucket without them, but then the bucket was probably not as sealed as the plastic bottles, I'm just trying to find other options for storage, i prefer the Mylar with absorbers but other cheaper options if they worked would be a big help.

September 2022... Anybody else think the Red Dawn sound bed is "over the top" ? Delta... wish you'd 'come back' and let us old-timers know you are still around. Your channel/you were critical in getting my family prepared (circa 2011) "Robert Henry" same deal. Wish I could keep learning from your experience. I've searched and searched... but you've dropped off my scope? Your bee videos alone THANK YOU! Both of you... please drop a note... let me know the camp fire is still lit. C from N.Texas

While in the day DE was used extensively, today there are other methods of getting rid of crawly varmints; that is, dry ice, putting storage foods in the freezer for 24-48 hours, etc. That said it doesn't hurt to use DE as kind of a "belt & suspenders" solution to long term storage.

Oxygen deprivation via (O2 absorbers) <the equivalent to physical freezing... that's my method. I know of/learned about DE but never chose to use it. I watched and learned from RH via Delta69 WAY WAY back when (2010). This was one of my PRIMARY sources for putting my food back. I commented to Delta a year or two back. He never answered. Hope he is okay. How did you find this video? It's so OLD! I was feeling nostalgic tonight, went looking for it, and had a hard time finding it. (I guess current events have buried the old-school prepping videos). At any rate, God Bless you and yours. Keep prepping. - c

Thank you for the great info! Man I didn’t know this video was over 13 years ago! But definitely relevant to what we’re facing today. I’m new to prepping and have a ways to go. Been out of work due to a work injury, so I’ve had a lot of time to catch up on the info related to prepping. Man so much to do!!!

Not sure, but I think you're incorrect on the dry ice thing. It is not a fumigant. It is carbon dioxide. When you put it in a bucket, it displaces the oxygen because it's heavier than air. Because there would be little to no oxygen in the bucket, there should be little to no oxidation. Further any living thing in the bucket will die to to lack of oxygen.

Cleaning the filter lightly with a toothbrush would be better than the abrasive green pad, it won't wear down the ceramic filter so guickly and extend the life of the filter...The filter will most likely out live You....GREAT WATER FILTER

hello! May I please take some of your time and ask; What is the lightest (in terms of weight) of all those nylon-based fabrics that you ever dealt with? I want to mount a parachute on my drone, so I have weight constraints. And I don't bother if it is impermeable or not, as long as it offers resistance against the airflow. Thanks in advance.

10 years back this was the first video i actually watched about beekeeping; now after a lot of studying, work, and a complete change of lifestyle, i am watching it again beeing a professional beekeeper in Greece. I am not saying this video has much usefull information about bees, im just saying that im feeling a bit nostalgic in wintertime. This was and still is the best decision of my life.

Great, thank you. Global economic collapse around the corner, folks, 2018, and ice age/ Grand Solar Minimum to really hit by 2019, though it's already started... Buy NOW IN BULK while food is on the shelf and BEFORE FOOD PRICES RISE. Turn prepping into a fun hobby. For economic collapse issues: Lynette Zang interviews and her Q&As, Greg Hunter's usawatchdog.com interviews with Catherine Austin Fitts, Mike Maloney, Jim Sinclair, Lynette Zang. X22Report interviews: Brandon Smith, Harley Schlanger, Zang. Digital currency discussed as well. USA dollars and ALL paper currency to collapse. Use it wisely now. BUY FOOD NOW IN BULK! Ice age /Grand Solar Minimum interviews: ADAPT 2030 interviews, esp John L. Casey and then Lee Wheelbarger. Also, Adapt 2030 founder just started a radio show on Revolution Radio, Studio A, 10 pm- 12 pm, Thursday nights. He talks with Diamond of Oppenheimer Ranch Project and Christian of Ice Age Farmer. Outstanding. Just started Feb 1, 2018. Blessings everyone's. Remember animals too. Cheers!

Jesus christ. So folks if your watching and reading this. After 6 minutes Bob finally throws the little fukers in the freezer. But guess what? You have to watch part 2 to find out if it works. So just watch part 2. After watching this video all the way thru til the end I have to watch part 2. I'm sure it will be equally agonizing as well. Wish me luck.

Yes, it should kill the live bugs but eggs will likely survive just like they do outside in the winter. Perhaps some types insect eggs can't make it thru a cold winter because they live in year-round warm climate but, where I live its get quite cold in the winter and come spring/summer we have lots of bugs.

Oh course you can eat feed wheat. Just be sure you understand the difference between hard wheat and soft wheat. Most feed wheat is soft wheat, less than 12% protein. Cheapest to grow and eat (soft is softer ergo easier to chew) and very often sold as feedwheat. soft wheat does not make good bread, more like brick. Does make good cakes and pastry. Know what you are storing, unless you like brick bread, of course.
