Probably my three top guitar influences are Pat Travers, Robin Trower, and....the great Leslie West! None of the three are ever absent from my ears for long! In a 2014 interview, Leslie said that in standard tuning he came to prefer a 9-46 set. Nothing wrong with liking it a little heavier on the bottom, heh heh heh... 😏

Martin was is so under-appreciated as a guitarist. Like many of the guitarists that played on Steely Dan albums, Martin was an after-thought to Ian Anderson. Truth is who is ever going to get along with Ian? If Bi-Polar had a poster boy Ian would be that person. I'm glad Martin is still playing music he is a delightful guy, and a tremendous musician.

I hear Les Paul players getting such a crisp, “glassy” tone from their neck pickup……..I plug mine in and I get a terrible “woofy” sound.

You must watch “Besides the Sea” on Woodstock 2, 1969, and Leslie torn that ballad up! The man could wail! A lot of soul and a true artist!

I have a Swiss RELISH pick-up swapping guitar, and a very nice instrument it is too! Both pickups can be swapped, I have 2 humbuckers that came with the guitar, and have subsequently purchased 2 more from Cream T….the company that bought out the RELISH technology after the company went bust. I have a Duchess P90, and a single coil Strat-type pup….both sound fantastic! Cream T make Billy Gibbon’s pickups, and Keef’s too, the “Banger & Mash” humbucker set! They also make their own pickup swapping guitars utilising the RELISH technology. Their pickup swapping system has been renamed GUITAR-X. They’re available from Sound Affects on Reverb

Rikki Don't Lose that Number features a bright clean tone played precisely and energetically. My Old School, on the other hand, has some of the dirtiest, chunky attacks of just about any pop song. Pure brilliance from Skunk.

No disrespect, I love your videos, your playing (and knowledge) is both inspiring and just simply next level…. Just one tiny little VERY common non-music related mistake…… it’s “Ukraine”, not “The Ukraine”. That would be akin to saying “The France”….. At LEAST 50% of people get that wrong, though, I believe mostly out of habit and because it wasn’t ALWAYS that way. *insert “the more you know” gif/meme* :) . Thank you so much for all you do, though, Tim, you’re a true master of your craft. ❤

Great lesson, At timestamp 5:15 you introduced the awesome Triad Chord progression 1 - 7, which I had recently discovered myself and don't see it being used that much. I also found a simular easy combination of Triad Chord progression using the stair step Triad and the Chord A shape combination to build out an entire 1- 7 Chord Progression I find these easy to play and would like to find another if it's out there. I'm thinking the C Shape in combination with some Triad would be a candidate. Do you know of any that resonates with you in this effort? Thanks for your great content and Hope this inquiry makes sense.
