Why is the model shipping so expensive? Did it come from another country? Also, you said your job is an oiler and set up real cranes. Are you happy doing that, or do you want to be an operator or other eventually?
@cranedude07
@cranedude07 14 сағат бұрын
@jamese9283 yes it came straight from the model manufacturer in the Netherlands, and it's pretty heavy package too. Yes I love being an oiler. I get to be around cranes, assemble/disassemble them all the time, clean/maintain them and even operate them once in a while. I wanted to be an operator before I actually started working with cranes but after finally getting the chance to do it and know all thats involved and everything, it just isn't something I want to do anymore, I'm much more happier just being an oiler. I don't have to sit in a seat all day and be bored, as an oiler, I'm up moving around, and I don't have all that stress and responsibility that an operator does.

too bad they didn't make the small lattice boom sections small enough to fit inside the bigger sections! what was IMC thinking?!?!
@cranedude07
@cranedude07 14 сағат бұрын
@mingming9604 they are small enough but the ladder on the side prevents it from sliding in.

I'm retired and would love to build a kit like that over the winter, however, it's just too much money for me (and my wife would veto such purchase-lol).

I haven't been on your channel for a long time. I'm glad you're still making videos. I came across this a long time ago, probably in 2012 - I was watching videos with my 4-year-old son - mostly about trains, mostly from Japan - there was a lot of rail content from that country back then. Somehow a thumbnail of one of your videos popped up and we watched them for a few years :) Now my son is in high school and is studying to be a train driver :) I don't know why I'm posting this comment but I think you'll enjoy it. Greetings from Poland :)

@wojteksienkiewicz_s3rd wow that's cool! Seems like trains and construction equipment go hand in hand. I use to have trains when I was a kid but saw a model crane for sale one time at a train show and had to have it. I still have my trains but they are boxed up. Don't have space to setup a layout like I did as a kid. Glad yall enjoy the videos.

@shan6021 it's been a few years since I added it all up but it was around 60-65,000. And yes I am in the operators union here and am an oiler on cranes, I also help assemble/disassemble them

I bought mine for six hundred and something last year direct from Sarens on sale for black friday. You should've bought it then. I don't have the extension kit for mine. I still haven't put it together and I need to find where a large bolt goes that was loose in the box as well. Would love to see a build video as well.

I may do a timelapse build of it after I get it built and makes sure everything is there and works right and get the hang of putting it together. If I did one right out of the box it would be a 5 hr video lol. I've already re reeved the a frame 4 times haha. I'm a little rusty

hi sir question how do you retract the boom i cannot figure it out i only see 1 button at the base of the boom but the other sections have each 2 slots and i don't see any buttons on them i have this crane a year now and still cant figure it out
@cranedude07
@cranedude07 25 күн бұрын
@ShawnMcCarthy-qk5xp you will have to pull out each section all the way, each section has 3 holes for 3 different boom lengths, 46%, 92%, and 100%. Extend them to 100% then starting with the tip section, you will have to push the pin in to retract it, once all the way in, then you can go to the next section. It's a pain to do for sure.

Absolutely amazing video. I’ve watched it many, many times. I’m attempting a stop-motion inspired by yours with my LTM 1650 and I can truly appreciate the amount of work it takes to do this. You have to be very careful with shadows and nudging the models inadvertently. I use ‘Stop Motion Studio’ at 5fps. Is this similar to what you do? Many thanks for the inspiration.

@PeterBurton50 thanks and good luck, look forward to seeing yours! When I was making them, I was using windows movie maker, then gopro studio when I used a gopro, and final cut pro but it's difficult to use for stopmotions.

@@cranedude07 many thanks for the speedy reply. I’ll post mine when it ever gets finished. So, how many fps would you consider is ideal? Knowing that higher fps gives a smoother finish but takes a lot longer to produce. I usually shoot at 5 but sometimes go down to not less than 4. Your comments are appreciated.

It’s an awesome piece of equipment you’ve got over there sir. I’m trying to comprehend how much work that all cost all though I can make an calculation coz at the moment I am building the Liebherr LTM11200 out of Lego. But there’s ain’t no good instructions for it so you have to figure it out all of yourself. At this very moment it took me 7 months to build as far as I come today and that’s the undercarriage and a bit of the machine house or upper carriage as we call it. Thank you sir for sharing this beautiful video with me I’ll very much enjoyed it. Greetings from Holland 🇳🇱👍👍
