I'm glad I found you because you seem like the only one that knows what's going on, I'm getting ready for my Lexus build and I was actually thinking about building like an SUV or something I can haul things in however I like your little truck design, I'm trying not to look at him too much because I want to have my own design and use my own creativity etc, although I am interested in the tools perhaps techniques that you applying, I'm still deciding on which Wheels to go with although I should be searching for a budget tube bender, Anyways thank you for your inspiring videos, Your skill and imagination are really cool !😯👍🇺🇸

At time 7:13 you talk about welding 7/8" bar and bolting through. With the amount of torque you'll be seeing with twin turbos. I'm curious if that bar wouldn't rip at the weld under extreme load. What do you think about notching your tubing so that 7/8" bar will go through the whole tube so you can weld its butt on the backside and weld all the way around it when it comes out of the tubing on the front? this way, 1. you don't just have that bar butted up to your tub and welded on just one side. 2. With your front it torquing and lifting that driver front wheel you'll have that bar going through your whole tube, with it being .120 wall that will help tremendously. Food for thought.
@exotruck57312 ай бұрын
The 7/8 bar would see little torque. It would be transfered and shared between transmission mount, engine mounts, cradle mounts, rear diff mounts, rear cradle mounts and the structure. The only area I'm concerned with is the length of the adapter engine mounts, and rear cradle mounts since it might want to wheelie
@iowagrizz6602 ай бұрын
@@exotruck5731 Well I guess you'll find out when you get a chance to give it a go. But i'd assume adding guessts to your rear mounts would be enough. Your engine mounts are stretched out pretty good. I'm sure there are some drag racers out there in a S550 chassis running a LS, my guess would be they have a front plate and a mid plate and dont run a engine mount. I dont know what your expectations are for power. But id think 600 to 700hp would be an absolute blast in this setup. might even be too much as this cant weigh more then 2500 to 2700 total with you in it.
@iowagrizz6602 ай бұрын
what version of Bend tech are you using? And was this chassis build done in Bend Tech then transferred to fusion for bracket designs? I use Fusion quite a bit for my plasma table and 3D printers. Its been one of my goals to build a exoskeleton vehicle. I really love that you are building a whole chassis and not just adding tubing to a vehicle. Here to learn from you. thanks
@exotruck57312 ай бұрын
Look like I have 7x EZ, it doesn't do much. most of the features are unavailable since I got the budget version. Ive been having trouble with it too, could be my 2" die but all the bends are about an inch off from where they should be.
@iowagrizz6602 ай бұрын
@@exotruck5731 Thank you, I'll look at Bend Tech some more. seems I see more say the middle options is best bet. Course you can always buy the add on's. Well i've watched plenty of videos of guys building in Bend Tech and transferring to Fusion. With having a 3D scanner now, I think Bend Tech would be an added bonus for me. I need to see how or if you can add 3d Mesh scan files in Bend Tech to build the cage system. I get how people decided where Zero is, and build from there in a 3d space. But i'd love to 3d scan the inside and build cage that way. I've also played around with building tube setups in Fusion like you mentioned on how to coop the tubing etc. and but I cant figure out if Fusion can give me the info like Bend Tech can on complex bends, like where to start my bend and then when the tube needs turned or clocked, how to find that info. I know bend tech does but I dont think there is a way to find that info in Fusion.

I’m so glad I found your channel recently. Been watching your driving footage for years to get that occasional eargasm, and it’s great to see you posting frequently. I have seen in my 58 years building or repairing vintage vehicle's or customs, bent or tweaked frames based on the wrong swaybar used without regards to the integrity of the materials supporting the sway bar. If your frame rails are only adequate for a three-quarter inch sway bar, do not install an inch and a half sway bar, without increasing the bar's mounting integrity.

4l80 unless I hit the lotto soon. Would like a 6 speed but with my power goals, it'll get expensive
@maxdrillerdrift80744 ай бұрын
Yes. With high power goals you will need something strong behind it for sure. I was going to suggest a BMW ZF from a E46 as a good budget option. But it’s only good for around 500 ft lbs of TQ. Looking forward to see how the build turns out! Cheers!
