Was wondering if you would alter the 15g of weight on the front dominant wheel on a track like this? kzbin.infoowTNW20Serk?si=Cb-lmd0MWwXzQ5yA Also would you change anything in how the stick body is set up? It is a 125’ track, normal BSA rules, fenders allowed. Then what would be your optimum configuration with no rules restricting you?

@mikemcguire25502 ай бұрын
Hi again Tate, I don't feel like I'm an expert using graphite. After Reece won his pack and district using graphite we started racing in the leagues and immediately switched to oil. On Facebook seek out John Schofield or Jim Calef. Both those guys know more about graphite than I do.

What do you think is the optimal bend in a front axle I have had to add quite a little bit of bend to make my car level and wondering when that hurts

I use more bend than most other league racers. I like keeping the front wheel on its edge and a smaller portion making contact with the rail. My cars have about a 10 degree bend. Because most lathes have a small amount of run out, I always cut and polish a pin. I'll cut the diameter to about .099". There is normally enough give in the bore of the wheel to create a tight friction fit.

Are there any options when the unit rules prohibit drilling new spots for the axles, bending the axles or having one wheel off the ground?
@mikemcguire25502 ай бұрын
It's possible to cant the rear axles using the existing slots. I think Mark Rober discusses that in his video. Also, because none of the stock axles from the kit are straight, I'd suggest using the axle with the most bend for your dominant front wheel. Last, if you are permitted to polish the axles, polish the axle normally used as the raised axle down to about .080". That should create enough of a gap for the wheel to touch the track.
