I'll always be a hardcore fan of Flowmaster chamber mufflers. Without a doubt they're best with an x-pipe, full length headers, collector extensions which maintain a 3" diameter for about 18ish" and absolutely no tailpipes. Not that particular order, obviously. Most people are completely oblivious to the Delta Force line of Flowmaster race mufflers. Flowmaster marketing keeps them out of the spotlight, and in the race category. But if you want the epitome of absolute badass, an aggressive, loud, but not deafening Flowmaster chamber muffler sound, get the Delta Force Flowmaster in the 2.5" diameter. They have a thinner 3" case, as opposed to the somewhat standard 4" case thickness that is most often seen from Flowmaster. It cuts down on resonance considerably. The 3" diameter pipe version of the same muffler (both are 40 series) has the thicker 4" case. But bigger engines making lots of power will often demand a bigger pipe to make the power they're after. I run the first setup I mentioned on my 64 Chevy C10 with a 350. Having a 5 speed, and downshifting while rev-matching to get off of the freeway, makes for a sound that I can only describe as orgasmic. It really is that badass. I have a video of my truck idling, but there is no x-pipe sound in that video. An x-pipe is ever so slightly quieter, with exhaust frequencies that are slightly higher pitched. A more refined sound is generated. Seeing a Mopar with Flows is very much awesome. Millions of Challengers, Charger's, and Coyote 5.0's occupy American highways. 99% or so of those have the same cookie cutter exhaust setup. They sound alright, but the lack of iconic, metallic, Flowmaster chamber sound is pure, completely unadulterated evidence that America's male population has lost obscene, vast amounts of testosterone since the 90's. Most men these days won't even think of arming their ride with an exhaust note so aggressive and authoritative, that they could slit throats with its roar, and easily get people to move out of theirs way at the mere two or three blips of the throttle, all controlled by the tip of the right foot. I think anyone who has read my comment this far would agree, no problem. Or at the very least, they would not dare disagree. Watch some Delta Force Flowmaster videos and see for yourselves. Just don't confuse Delta Force with Delta Flow.Talways be a hardcore fan of Flowmaster chamber mufflers.
