Agreed! He's one of the cooler "retcons", I think, considering that even though he destroyed a whole planet he was still just an easily defeated quest mob in TBC. I love what's been done with him since chronicle adding void lord lore in and cleverly tweaking the context of those Netherstorm quests

Yes!!! tbh I'd totally forgotten all about the Ethereum lore. I didn't even do those quests while doing this video so I forget if we get rid of them or not, but I DO wonder if we'll see them again if their whole purpose is to defeat Dimensius? It would be so interesting!

Yes! ASMR was definitely the inspiration, I love all the immersive ASMR roleplays people do. It would be fun to experiment with actual ASMR at some point but I don't know what the demand for it would be, I think most of my following (on twitter at least) was very against ASMR when I polled them 😅

Haha, yup! I do think you're right and that it wasn't him (if only because she wasn't there after he died, Sylvanas and Vereesa were), but that the dead elf *could* be symbolic for Lirath. It's his death that really drives her to revenge against the orcs, so setting up a scene where she decides to leave Sylvanas after seeing the corpse of a male elf feels significant. The camera lingering on him felt so pointed too, but she said, "I lost a sister that day" and nothing about a brother (though, I guess to be fair, he was left out of the short entirely while Sylvanas/Vereesa got their spotlights. Thinking about what has to be cut to condense her life meaningfully into a 5 minute short is enough for a video of its own tbh).

OHHH SHOOT THAT'S SUCH A GOOD CATCH... I wonder if, based on the audio story, it's just one of the "potential" outcomes the Light saw, or if it's actually foreshadowing for something we've yet to see. I'm definitely getting nervous he'll die at some point in TWW, but the part about a red sky throws me off unless, say, K'aresh happens to have a red sky (despite probably being the equivalent of Outland or worse right now).

Fun fact - in the audio drama, I think he feels pain going through the portal too! It's just not depicted in the short, haha (or at least not as much as the pain from their hands touching is).

@@Ishura My followup question, do you think the same thing would happen to all beings of opposite elements or do you think it's more of a unique case for the two of them? Like say Elune being of life and the Winter Queen being of death, perhaps that's why they never interact directly?

I think it's much more evident with the older books, which... I get? The fanbase has complained for a long time about having lore in the books but not in the game, so I feel like sometimes they just scrap some stuff to repackage it in a new expansion.
