Another thing my teacher told me is to try your hardest not to fidget, don't take a pen up there with u to click, try not to crack your knuckles etc. She said that flashcards are a good way to stop these anxious motions, as you have them in your hands. :)

What should I do for my volunteering section and how should I get a assessor for each section? I'm thinking of a assistant teacher for the skills section since I'm doing language - but I don't know what to do for volunteering or physical except for running and possibly helping at a public library. But - how would I approach them and how do I get an assessor for the physical section?
@fvtima12 күн бұрын
If you are still wondering about it, you can just go into the public library and ask! Most of the time they will already know about the award however if not just explain it and they will likely be accepting of new volunteers. About the running , you can track it on an app, take screenshots for evidence and fill in the log that’s on the website, for an assessor you can ask a PE teacher at your school!
@Abeaarans12 күн бұрын
@@fvtima Already done most of that! Thanks for telling me anyway. I'll do public library for volunteering for the silver award probably if I do that.

Hi do you have any tips for interview prep?
@AlizaMedicАй бұрын
My biggest tip is to practice. It’s all good to read about content and good answers but you won’t be able to do as well as you potentially can if you don’t practice. That’ll help with your confidence and “speaking technique” as well, for example, how to effectively show empathy through body language and tone.

Hey could you change your activity for physical and voluntary activity for example doing running for one month then going to the gym for one month and rock climbing for another. Is that allowed? Same as voluntary, can you like help in the library for one month, then help your mum cook for one month and then help in clubs for one month? Also does your assessor have to be be there in person to see you do it? Thanks for your help!

thank you for this video! I did the UCAT exam today and a fire alarm went off which was very disruptive, at first we were told to ignore it because it was a test alarm, then were told we need to evacuate the building, then were told it was a test alarm again and to go back to our seats lol there was also very loud construction during the exam, so the invigilator helped me create two incident reports for the disruptions and I'm waiting to hear back now if I get offered to take the exam again, I would as I didn't do as well as I wanted to

That actually sounds so terrible!!! Were you not given the option for an annotation to be added to your score when it was sent to uni? Or did the annotation actually make no difference to the unis, like did they just not even take it into account? The test centres do really need to start checking the equipment beforehand seeing as our entire applications depend on these tests 🥲

what made u choose medicine? don't you think about how in the future you will get paid less as a doctor and how there is alot to sacrifice
@AlizaMedic4 ай бұрын
I mean I’m not doing med for the pay, there’s careers which would definitely pay better😅. I also guess it would depend on the specialty I go into because people like GPs don’t have that bad of a work-life balance. If I go down the surgery route, in the specialty training years there would definitely be sacrifices being made but it would be equally worth it and rewarding in the end after meeting and hopefully treating patients!

@@AlizaMedic yes ur right actually im having battles in my mind whether i should go for med or not cause what if im not able to cope up with studies or if im nit capable to have succes in this field it scares me , pls give me some advice <3
@AlizaMedic4 ай бұрын
@idkz5d That’s a very reasonable fear and most people probably think the same before applying. Coping with studies is something that will come with time with trial and error to find which method works for you but if you stay organised and on top of things from the start, it makes the journey much easier. As for the fear of failing in the field, this is something I personally know so many people think. If it puts things into perspective, I sometimes still have those thoughts despite being in year 3 and this feeling of imposter syndrome is very common! Just don’t let it take a toll on you and stop you from applying if med really is something you want to do. Having someone to talk to about your fears and struggles often helps a lot and it’s something which keeps me going, as I know my family and friends will always help me and encourage me. Also knowing others have felt the same way as me yet have powered through encourages me to think I can do it too!!

Hi, I have 5 weeks until i sit mine and i can’t afford medifiy or anything like that, do you think it is essential?
@AlizaMedic5 ай бұрын
@taniaaa9032 Hey, Medify is definitely worth it and I don’t think I would’ve been able to prepare without it because other resources were using the UKCAT book, which I don’t think I would’ve benefitted from as it wouldn’t replicate the real online exam. However having said that, there are still other resources out there which you could get for cheaper such as Passmed and Medic Portal (I think they do UCAT) but I can’t comment on how accurate or useful these would be as I’ve not used them myself unfortunately. This is just my opinion though! I have heard about people using the book and timing themselves and still scoring well, just personally this wouldn’t be something which would help me.

Hey ! If you eligible for the UCAT bursary you can get a medentry or medify subscription at a lower price :)

Also, hope this isn't too late. PassMedicine is a great website as it provides around 8 time practice tests per subtest and includes 3 full mock tests to have a go at. Something worth to mention is the abstract reasoning is slightly outdated as it states there are 55 questions to be completed in 13 minutes when in the UCAT it's actually 50 questions to be completed in 12 minutes but the questions are really good to practice with. All completely free of charge!
