what about if you turn the fork 1/4 turn then is the bottom fork meant to be straight with the column ? ie does it need to be level that way as well as the first way you showed with the sprit level ?
@m1scooterlife2596 күн бұрын
You mean left and right, yes but most problems with the forks are from front end crashes. If the front is bent then the left to right alignment will be out too. Have you got bent forks?

What is floating earth conversion could you explain more pls. Terry
@m1scooterlife2598 күн бұрын
It's a system to obtain more power from your flywheel and stator, you can nearly double the power output for any given rated stator, for a 120watt stator I would expect around 210watts, this gives a lot more scope to power anything you may want to connect such as music systems ,sat nav or just loads of lights, you don't get the power dropping off at tick over so at night your lights stay the same just like a car. I will explain as I fit it to the scooter I'm doing up atm. Cheers and good luck
@terryfaulkes83397 күн бұрын
Hi again looking at the stator in your video it looks like a mb loom but you have added an extra yellow wire then both end up at regulator AC non battery system yes ? Now where you soldered yellow wire on lighting coil you mention and said on earth position i take it there is no earth wire there or you had removed it prior to the conversion or we get bad short. Just checking as got a bit confused. Great videos old school years of experience On that note happy new year and keep up the videos. Terry
@m1scooterlife2597 күн бұрын
@terryfaulkes8339 you cut the earth wire that is the coil wire that is tagged onto the metal part of the stator, add a yellow to this, then the two yellows connect on to the rectifier one on each ac point, you then have two other wires from the rectifier, one is ground and the other feeds through to the battery and make sure there's a fuse in line. I fit one on the rectifier and one on the positive from the battery, this then is connected to what ever switch you choose and links the ac and dc ,this turns your lighting to dc and you will need a dc horn , if 12volt bulbs are fitted these are ok.so if you don't have your engine running the horn and lights will work as you connect them up, on my p2 the ignition switch only does ignition the switches on the handlebars work the lights,horn and indicators with no key, on my series2 the ignition works my ignition and switches on the sip speedo as this needs a switched power on and off to power it on , if left on the battery would drain. You will have enough power when the engine is running to charge the battery and run anything you want
@terryfaulkes83398 күн бұрын
I looked at your channel trying to find the floating earth conversion could not find it as did not quite understand what you where doing on pt 19. Terry

Great video on how to rebuild the engine, I’ve stripped & rebuilt my two S3 Lambrettas which was easy, I haven’t rebuilt an engine though,but not because I haven’t got the ability, it’s just my local Lambretta workshop does them all the time & does such a great job. I’m looking forward to the rest of the rebuild especially the electrical side AC/DC conversion which you’re going to do. I’m just about to start stripping down another Lambretta but this one is a S2.. This time the engine isn’t seized but still on 6V & points. Hi great videos always watch. Question. The drive side bearing sometimes comes with its own and some times with two. I noticed the one you fitted pt 13 had no extra seals. Is there any benefit of one or even both internal seals as surely you could be starving the bearing from lubrication. Your opinion would be great. Now onto pt 14. Better then telly. Ps. A fork strip rebuild could be interesting especially go. Regards terry. Get a heater pls.
@m1scooterlife25928 күн бұрын
@@terryfaulkes8339 the seal fitted to the bearing would only be needed on the crank side as the gearbox oil is used to lubricate the bearing and you would only need the seal in any case if you can't seal the drive side from leaking, usually only on sil casings. The plate ,seal and halite washer should seal the bearing off. I should of bought or obtained a plate to heat the mag side up by now. Cheers
