Vielen Dank für das zeigen der Bilder die Dokumente der Zeitgeschichte sind. Manche der Bilder erinnern mich an meine eigene Lebensgeschichte. Die Bilder die amerikanische Soldaten mit deutschen Frauen zeigen. Auch mein leiblicher Vater war als Soldat der amerikanischen Armee in Deutschland stationiert. Leider habe ich Ihn nie kennenlernen dürfen. Es gibt viele Menschen in Deutschland, die amerikanische Wurzeln haben. Früher nannte man uns Besatzungskinder. Die Frauen die ein Kind mit einem amerikanischen Soldaten hatten hatten es nicht leicht. Aber das ist alles lange her.

4th Infantry Division veteran here. Spent a lot of time in Graf back in the late 80s when I was stationed in Erlangen West Germany with the 1st Armored Division. Germany was amazing back then. Great memories.

8 years after WW2. 71 years ago. If the average solider was 20 they would have an average age of 91 now If any of them are still alive. Mind blowing how time flies!

I was at Binlach with 3rd ACR in 1956 - 1957 as part of Opeation Gyroscope, company commander was Capt. Crowe. If anyone was there at the same time, I'd like to hear from you.

I was in the US Army in the mid sixties, and stationed at Nurenberg, and was a dental lab tech, No field manuvers , guard duty, or KP, just my desk, bunson burner, cup of coffee, cigarette, and listening to the AFN radio....it was like a crft class , on a European vacation...

I was in germany in the US Army dental corp, at william Odarby kassern, in 1966 to 1967. Back then you always went by airplane, but to make sure you stll left, 20 Days early, in case you had to go back By ship....102 weeks in the US Army...lol

Wasn't 7th Armored involved in the defense of St. Vith during the Battle of the Bulge? Even though the city eventually fell, considered as key to holding up the Germans as the more heralded Bastogne? Interesting photos nonetheless.

8th Infantry Division...Pathfinders..."These are my Credentials"...Golden Arrow....Baumholder 74-76. The Rock. Largest Concentration of Combat Ready Troops at that location, outside of the Continental United States.

Love the video. The first picture may be near the Tidsworth barracks. The division was stationed there between mid June and early August before entering the continent for Operation Cobra. It's near Stonehenge.
