First, when you run the disk I/O Benchmark, It is possible to tell sysbech in which directory to put the test files? Are the test files generated by the disk I/O benchmark deployed only in the directory where the sysbench or the script is executed? Does locate in a specific directory the test files generated by the disk I/O benchmark makes any sense? Second, if I'm benchmarking a LVM disk, Does benchmarking any of the Logical volumes in the volume group give me an accurate outlook for the performance of the whole physical volume?

I used to know commands for windoze back in the day but cant learn this but now that I know its there when I need to wipe a hd I will try it. Thanks again. Your installer is different from mine, I have the new Kubuntu 24.04, why cant Ubuntu make installation straight forward like Linux, it is so annoying when you sea a distro that looks good and you want to install you have to manually partition your drive. I did that before and wiped out windows on my internal hard drive, this is what keeps me away from ubuntu, i cant be doing with with it at my age. I just want a plug and play.

Yeah, this is unnecessarily cumbersome, Ubuntu’s fault not your fault. The option to do this under the Ubuntu desktop Network Manager works much better and more reliably. Ubuntu Server should have something better than this, not worse.😮
