Hahaha the James Baldwin quote at the beginning is f*cking ridiculous coming from the whitest band with a fan base comprised of the worst upper middle class white people in the country

stick to that fish garbage./ why do all you young fish fans try to get into the dead and compare them and play both? old dead heads hate tghat fish trash. they shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence, channel etc EVER.

So the feedback at 4:00~ is apparently caused by first, Treys full hollow ody- it's extremely unusual and allows him to " play with air". But there's also the magnetic element to the equation, which means that the feedback happens only when the guitar is like exactly 15° from the amp, and no more or less, so if Trey tries to initiate at 17° by mistake.. it causes feedback. This was 20 years ago, and he's much more reigned in on this stuff.

A new George Gershwin tune has shown up much more recently....Hey Stranger features direct lyrics from Ive Got Rhythm I love Gershwin tunes and Broadway so I get Trey loving it too It is very jazzy catchy and always reminds me of one of my favorite films....The Fisher King RIP Robin Williams we love you so much

Performances like this make me wish I didn’t stop seeing them for 13 years (not counting Coventry) after the island tour. Things were getting sloppy, myself included. But this is inspired.

There were a lot of links between Ween and the jam band scene. I wouldn't take anything Mickey says about modern music too seriously, anyway, since he's always basically said he's a classic rock guy, as well as Prince and P-funk. I mean, their bassist of 30 years, Dave Dreiwitz, is the bassist in JRAD. And Gener wrote an amazing tribute to Jerry when he died. Roses Are Free is really a bit of a hippie jam anyway, at least the words, although the music is pure Paisley Park. As for the Phish version, it's quite good, though it's not as loose as Ween have made it when they retooled it as a touring band.

Incorrect sir. There is no 5 chord (E) anywhere in the song. After F#min is A with E in the bass. Actual chord is A7 with E in bass, which briefly takes you to a D maj scale. Nice job on transcribing, playing and presenting. But the devil is the detail.
