I did pretty ok in school (middling; 82nd or so out of 200), but if the subject didn't interest me I didn't try too hard... I also found out not long ago I have ADHD which was the source of many other issues 😅

I did well in college, but I hated public school. I did well in classes I enjoyed.

I am an INTP. I breezed through medschool.. Never finished reading most of the chapters because at the first 4 paragraph my mind flies or it just shuts down. To cope with it I just read the first sentences of each paragraph and just read my classmate's (ESTJ) notes then make diagrams out of it (my notebook is full of drawings and web diagrams). I am already graduating. I bearly passed every subject but never failed an exam. I don't think I am ready to be a doctor but I have no plans of getting out of the field. 😅

I'm an INTP and I'm so immature that I'm still confused by a lot of social rules. I also hate to memorise when I can just understand.

I told my High School Counselor that I wanted to do research and maybe Microbiology. She said I don't think you have the aptitude. This was our first meeting, she only knew me from my grades, and my math and biology grades were A's. There were plenty of C's and D's, and that's all she saw. She might have been right for 90% of students with similar report cards. In my case she just immediately lost my respect. Our public education system does not work for INPTs

As a kid i remember that i loved to go to the school because i loved everything about facts and analysis. Just because an INTP person sucks in school doesn't make them to not go to the school necesseraly. They dive deep into their own analysing world and still can adapt to their environment. They can blend in also and even so if they have their own way of recieving information. I am an INTP who dwelves into facts, the way i could escape from just thinking was to workout and play some football. There is time when they can become very stressed out and that can be because they didn't achieve others expectations witch they thought were their own expectations. When they start realize that they have to figure out what is their own expectations is when things start to happen. People can feel bullied by them because of their high thinking ability noone else have. These are the types that you can't even get close to what their mindset is. Uncracked dilema that will always let the world go around in confusion to why they are in this way. High logical thinker outside the emotional attachments, that's the true INTP is. A riddle that no master can even touch.

I showed up 15 minutes late to class on the day of a final I didn’t know we were having. I was lucky I even happened to show up to class that day. Got an 88. The only thing that kept my grades down in college was attendance. I did pretty well in school.

I don't think that gifted people should be treated any differently to anyone else. Obviously gifted minds need a chance to develop at their own pace and level but they shouldn't be treated as if they are better people or more important than anyone else.

Its weird I can read multiple books about everything I find interesting marketing, psychology, physics , cooking, systematic thinking, art and more for my curiosity its fun and rewarding but when I have to study for classes with the intentions of passing it becomes trivial and boring to me. 95% of the classes (at least at my shithole) dont even leverage subjects such as statistics and calculus to integrate or teach programming with python with the intentions of creating programs to solve problems that matter in the community. Instead your force fed trivial problems with the sole intention of learning the tools instead of solution based approach to learn to actually problems that matter with the technologies and techniques the course "teaches" at disposal its crazy to me how they still dont adapt mathematics to anything and make it as abstract as possible. A person's curiosity is measured by their unread library that's what matters to me. Id rather sit or lie down all day watching family guy then sit in those classes.

I have bad memories man, I cannot remember for the life of me what I just read for the past 15 minutes. it has something to do with interest, and sometimes the desperation to learn something. Another issue is the meaning of doing what you want to do as a vocation or getting the job; other times I just do not want how things are done so I like to experiment and seek out stuff that will give me a lot of breaks...the next probably is the lack of ESTP like assertiveness, like we need to practice a lot before we can have godlike skills to work on our feet, that is where desperation and adrenaline works, in the male world most INTPs are more masculine, supposedly, unlike the ones that lean to they gays (you can google it and it is there). SO you yeah it all boils down to worth and not being restricted to some schedule.

I wouldn't say they "suck" at school. Many enter STEM and do exceptionally well.

I have multiple distinct memories from the age of 1, something that I thought was normal until I reached adulthood. On the Terman Concept Mastery Test (form T), I scored 172. According to the scorer, that equates to an I.Q. of 158. Your level of giftedness is clearly well above mine.

Short answer: School is about memorization not thinking

I gave you another chance by fast forwarding. I grew up poor, single parent. Hillbilly who moved a lot very depressed coal towns. Different generations and upbringing but I get what your saying. I think I'd like to have a normal conversation with you . somewhere that you could talk at normal decibel level and speed. I'm taking it that your speed and volume have to do with baby in background or your confidence possibly a combination.
