Hi, just wondering what the overall dimensions of this platform is? I'm planning on building one that is 12'x16' so just trying to figure out how many deck blocks I will need. Thanks!

Its best early July but late July should still be good too, August is the slowest month depending on the weather, last year it rained almost every week and fishing was consistent all summer

Granite retains heat - or cold - for a long time, so rocks like these of that type would be very useful. Looks like 2 more logs could be added between the rocks and bottom logs to form a very effective heat output.

@@OutdoorsMyLife I've wondered recently how effective 2 smaller versions of the log fires set side by side in a slight V formation would be. The theory is 2 heat sources converging to form a hotter one that drifts towards the tent/sleeping area. Like to see someone test that out.

Iv spent a lot of time running a yurt/ tent business and I can give you all a few bits of advice. Keep your tent tight. There should be no sag on any angle. Sag leads to moisture and moisture leads to mould. Always dry your tent. If your planning on packing early you will need to erect your tent again in 48 hours or the mould will ruin your canvas. Other than that they are awesome

The whole point of a long burn fire is being able to sleep all night. This fire seemed to need to be tendered every hour. A normal campfire can can last an hour and probably puts out more heat
