Colored chalk for children covers the paper more quickly and easily. It also makes a darker impression without using a whole pencil. Great video.

this was so good and well taught. Especially the point that in the end you have to find you "own" second deal was spot on. 10/10

The signed card version was awesome! I’ve never seen this method before (back palm. And as a convincer for the first effect where the card is stuck to the window in advance- put a piece of double stick tape on the top of the face down deck. When the spectator is forced a card, put it face down on the top of the deck (so now the face of the chosen card sticks to the back of the card below it. Have the spectator cut the deck and complete the cut losing the selection in to the middle of the face down deck. After the card is revealed behind the glass you can then pick up the deck and show every card “proving” there are no dupes.

Hey Cavan, love these style videos man, they seem warm and cosy. So I’m not sure if you remember, but I commented awhile back about being too embarrassed to do Magic in front of my poker friends, well this weekend one of them is getting married and I really want to perform magic for people as I think a wedding is such a great time to do it. I have a routine of maybe 10 tricks that I can show small groups of people during the day, but I’m very very scared about doing it for some reason I’ve mentioned in the past that I feel much more comfortable doing it to strangers so if you’ve got any words of advice that might be encouraging then please share 😊

Totally agree - needs to revamped. Turned a classic ambitious card into a simpler, yet significantly more diverse routine. 4 discovery phases - 1st find the signed card with vanishing jokers, 2. with a double lift, use a wand roll on the table to reveal the changed card, 3. Card in mouth while spectator is shuffling the pack , 4. In the clear - folded card transpo with card that has been in cellophane on the table the entire time. Is this still considered an ambitious card lol?

For the loaded dice trick you should get your victim to roll the non-gimmicked die first, there is a 1 in 6 chance it will land on the 5 use a bit of magicians choice if it lands on 5 then you state that is their selection if it doesn't then you switch the die out for the loaded die

I used to work for Marvin’s based at Hamley’s in London. Don’t get me wrong, Marvin is a great guy and fantastic magician - President of the Magic Circle at the time of writing - but to say there are ‘50 Magic Tricks’ in 1 tin was a bit of a stretch! You’d be lucky to get 10 out of it!

I bought some in £, some in $ depending on where the best condition/cheapest sealed tin was being sold! $250 is an accurate estimate fully converted into $! Hope that makes sense

What a fantastic video. So glad you enjoyed the sets. Really nice seeing them all again. We had a lot of fun making them (part of my day job). As for the missing tin - it was a “special” only sold in Hamleys around 2012 - so it is rare. From memory it has Great British Coin Trick, Gem Paddles and Ring on Shoelace. There were also a few designs that didn’t get beyond the mock-up stage - but you never know. Thank you again for the video, All the best, Justin :-)

Loved the video my Brother. It’s not as easy to find any Marvin’s Magic kits here in the states. You can find them in a few bookstores or specialty stores. I have a couple of their small boxes tricks and they are so much better than beginner kits here in the USA. Thanks 🙏 for sharing.
