My kids want to eat it though You can just put the icing in hot water to make it more pliable a little bit before you start your kit. Also, if you decorate it with the pieces flat down then let it dry before putting it together with the icing. Nothing slips off, but everything is safe to eat at the end.

Instead of using glue i recomend using melted sugar to put the parts together because it holds the pieces together very good and you can still eat the gingerbread house :D
