@@TylerTiede that's sick. I just watched your 7 step update video. Great tutorials. I'm doing most of the things you're trying to stop. Luckily I'm 6'8" so I throw 370' even with my garbage form, but I want to get to 450' and it's going to take me watching videos like yours, and filming myself to figure out what specifically is wrong with my throw.

My first throw with it was the same experience you had. I threw my new halo Wraith, a Destroyer, and my buddy's seasoned DD3 for reference and the Racer bombed by them. I normally have to throw a distance line to get 400' but I got it with the Racer on a golf shot. Maybe that nose bead adds weight to the rim and amplifies the gyro effect? I like the hand feel too, Innova might have a winner here. Thanks!

Appreciate the content. I've been viewing disc golf content for over 2 years and had recently discovered yours. I have a question that's been burning a hole in my brain for awhile now. Is disc golf the only sport that attracts newer or novice players that "think or feel or imagine" that they can throw like a pro in a year. Here's my point. No one picks up football and thinks or even phathoms that they can throw like Tom Brady. Yet, in disc golf EVERYONE coming into the game begins this effort and most become "let down" when they cannot throw 400 feet after a season. Tom Brady played as a young guy in high school and had those intermediate years, then college, then pro. It TOOK YEARS to develop the distance. Yet again, here we are in our 1st couple of years wondering why we don't have elite distance. Why?
@TylerTiede13 күн бұрын
@@lawrence8834 Personally, I played many years of high-ish level ultimate before coming to disc golf so throwing car came easier to me than others. Still, I knew it would take years to really get up there. I think you may be seeing some selection bias here. I spend a lot of time around a ton of disc golfers, tournaments, leagues, lessons. The vast majority of people don’t think they can throw like pros. It’s probably more likely that you’re just seeing the most outspoken people. In fact, I would even say I see the opposite is more common. Many people act as if what the pros do is basically unachievable. It’s part of what drove me to want to become better, because to me it seemed doable. I’m sure there’s some subset of people who think disc golf is easy because it’s just “throwing a frisbee”. I’m sure it’s similar to many other sports. Like I’m sure just as many people (if not more) think they can hit a golf ball 300+ yards in a year.

Uhhh I just got myself one of those cloud breakers and put the exact same stock eclipse proxy in my bag last week 😂
@ryanf450219 күн бұрын
I like the Gannon CB but I think the horizon cloubreakers were better for me personally. They're more dependable and handle low, flat shots a lot better which is how I generally throw. Personal preference of course. That said, in general the modern "cloudbreaker" mold is decent but I really think all the DD3 cloudbreakers made by innova, as well as the cloudbreaker 3 (which had a big range of stabilities depending on color) were overall a bit better as reliable bombers. But like you said, they're now older and more expensive. As modern easier to find options, I think the new Gannon version is a solid offering, and I hear the pink ones are beefier, which is nice. (I actually like 'inconsistencies' in runs because then you can go out and get the one that you want to fit your game/the slot you want to fill in your bag.) Also I love the shout out on the 2020 Calvin destroyers. I have like 6 of em and it's definitely my favorite bomber run of destroyer I've thrown. I'd actually say the 2024 stock halo destroyers are similar. Don't sleep on them. I picked up a few and have been getting them out near 450' with just a couple weeks of wear on them, which is solid distance for me. Not sure how far you throw but you seem to be similar. They've also had a lot of like 168-172g halo ones available and I have one of those ( I think 169g) that is pretty similar to the 2020 Calvins out of the box. It was basically the perfect max distance crusher from the first throw. Something about them and the star plastic blend they're using are different this year. Cheers from a fellow disc nerd.

i putted with the wizard for 2 years and the kratos just feels like a flatter run of wizard. the JB Flx came out exactly like an out of the box wizard but in a proper premium plastic. def has more speed and glide than a wizard but stability is pretty close. both discs are sensitive to nose angle and can really change its flight characteristics (good and bad of course lol)
