Sounding better Ned, but its lesson 4 with the same progression. How many lessons are there overall?
@NedJeffery
@NedJeffery 11 ай бұрын
So there are 7 modules overall I think. Each module has about 5 or so lessons, focusing on slightly different techniques. The last lesson in the module is a solo that mixes all the techniques from the module together. Each lesson in a module uses the same backing track.

I don't know why anyone would buy this course when they could get a year long Truefire membership for half the price when they have it on offer. This would give them access to thousands of courses including courses by Eric Johnson. I like Mr Davids but I think that his course prices are taking the pi**! I'm sure that he would sell a lot more courses if he set his courses at realistic price points.

Was wondering if Paul is putting out guitar tab pros (.gp, .gp5 files) for the various songs/tutorials, or are all the tutorial's videos of him describing to the viewer how you would play the song? Interested in starting this course myself. I have always preferred guitar pro tabs - I learn quicker with them. Also, I appreciate these vids. A more accurate review of the course!
@NedJeffery
@NedJeffery Жыл бұрын
No guitar pro tabs unfortunately. Just a PDF, and a good 30mins video going through in song in minute detail. He gets really specific with which fingers to use and how to place them etc. Sorry it's been a while since I did the last lesson. Wife had a baby so I haven't had any time to practice in ages.

Ned, Thanks for putting up all these videos. Totally see you enjoying PD s new class. I am still deciding if I should sign up the course. One thing I am wondering is if I will be able to take a piece of music & able to improvise nicely & comfortably after finishing this course? Do you think you can give some advices or your opinions here? Thankyou
@NedJeffery
@NedJeffery Жыл бұрын
Well theres nothing in the course about scales or music theory. That is all assumed knowledge. this is more about technique. So you will feel more comfortable in your technique. But to improvise you really need to do things like run scales 1,000,000 times till they become second nature. and be able to feel and follow chord changes by ear. That just takes time and practise.

Hi, can I ask you some questions? How is structured the course? I mean,does each level has some lessons and then a final piece of music to learn? Is usefull for guitar instrumental songwiting? Does it helps developing ear? Thank you for your answers!
@NedJeffery
@NedJeffery Жыл бұрын
There is about 7 modules with about 5-6 lessons in each module (just going off memory here). There is something to learn and play each lesson, and each one is focused around a particular technique. Every lesson in a module has the same backing track, and the last lesson in the module uses all the techniques learned throughout the module. Is it good for songwriting? Yeah I guess so. In the sense that it forces you to learn new licks you probably wouldn't have used without being taught. Is it good for developing your ear? Not really. If you want to develop your ear try transcribing some songs.

Hi, Ned! Awesome playing! Thank you for you effort of putting all levels videos, it tells a lot more about the course. But now I'm kinda confused. What exact benefits of taking this course in your opinion? Solos seems like kinda easier than in Next Level Playing. Does Paul teach how to improvise and write your own music more in this course? From his site I can't really decide how exactly it differs from NLP. But I think eventually I will get it anyway.
@NedJeffery

Definately more challenging and useful than NLP in my opinion. The videos here are mostly 1 per lesson. With 5-6 lessons per module. So I've still got much further to go.

@@NedJeffery Oh! So that’s not the whole course! Awesome! Now it makes sense :D As I ser from your chanel, you’re experinced guitarist. Do you think Pauls courses can be helpful for metal/metalcore and stuff like Polyphia? I dog Pauls bluesy style, but every time I practice his lessons I remenber I’ve started my guitar joirney because of metal :) I see that Paul doesn’t use sweeps, tapping etc, but ‚m really in excersise style of Bernth teaching either…
