After that winter we had in 2021, it's asinine to install this thing above ground. Now I've got a mountain of work to get my system back up and running after being shutdown for 3 years!

I'm not too far from you and my clowns installed my back flow stuff a foot above ground. After watching it explode TWICE with our winters, I cut that sucker off 6inches underground and said fk it. I suppose I should have put it in a box a foot underground and given the black widows a new home.

Thank you for this video and titling it properly “common mistake”. The hunter system should really name the zones differently than the programming start time. Mine all says “A1 A2 A3” which you would think means the zone but you would be incorrect…

multiple start times for each zone isn't needed; just one start time on the first zone. Otherwise runs multiple times- my problem solved. Other videos don't point this out. also one for drip explained well

What double check valve is that. Looks exactly like mine. It seems that the irigation guy is trying to push for replacing it without a test gauge. Don't know if I trust him. May do it myself with a proper 1 to 1 replacement. He claims it is broken and limiting pressure to our sprinklers.
@irrigationtipstricks7797
@irrigationtipstricks7797 Ай бұрын
@@RADPro Febco 850. You should expect to lose around 4 psi through a 1” DCVA. You can use a pressure gauge to confirm this by testing the PSI at test cock 1 and 4. Flow may be restricted, I would recommend getting a second opinion. I would also recommend a professional replace the backflow, it's the most important part of the system and requires pulling a permit and being tested by a BPAT.

@@irrigationtipstricks7797 it seems that the house pressure is 70 psi, the sprinklers psi is coming down to 20. It's definitely loosing a lot of pressure somewhere. Do you have a recommendation for a pressure gage that would work?

I’ve been watching your video however iam confused: my controller has 9 stations; but it keeps coming on twice. When you say you only need one star time; so you turn off station 2,3,4. Now does that mean all 9 stations will come on at designated time ? Do I need to turn on stations 5,6,7,8,& 9 using station 2 ? If I hit station 1 and turn off the other does that mean all 9 stations will water ? Once a day at designated times ??
@irrigationtipstricks7797
@irrigationtipstricks7797 2 ай бұрын
@@Alanj-z9r if you want the system to water once on the designated day then you only need one start time. So in start times you will need to turn 2, 3 and 4 off. You will need to add time to the zones you want to run in the run times.
