How to make a jar top opening tool

I've seen the same trick for unthreading Hunter rotors from the ground, as well as one for unthreading the Hunter body if the guts thread out. How does this compare to the specialized channel lock style pliers available for irrigation?

Have you made one for a hunter jar top? If so what size of pipe have a used and what gauge?

@@irrigationtipstricks7797 thank you for your quick response. I am guessing where you notch them at is at the groves. Is that correct. I have been trying to figure out something for the hunter jar tops for awhile.

@@irrigationtipstricks7797 have you tried a 3 inch ABS coupler for a hunter jar top? I actually think it would work, but I have not had a chance to run to town yet to get one.
