Episode 23 (or 11 of cour 2) is actually my favorite episode (though it is the combo 23-24). Honestly, people seem to think that the episode is bad (especially readers) but the obsession with a 1:1 adaptation is kinda insane for me. This episode, despite being very emotionally charged, requires you to be fairly rational to get how beautiful it is. Like, you kinda have to keep the judgement behind to see the whole picture. The key is to understand each character's motivation, see through what was said and get beneath the feeling of each character. It also gets better with every rewatch, once you know episode 24. You will understand the pain of Rudeus, the bravery of Roxy, and the ongoing theme of the arc. Once you get episode 23, you will also get Sylphy's decision in episode 24.

Most side character in MT (zanoba, cliff, norn, aisha, paul, elinalise, orsted) is better than most isekai protagonist we have today.

Just the Peak isekai

If MT is a RPG, the main quest have not even started at this point, and the protag just collected all the companions, and each one of them has their own personal quest lines when time comes.

they cut off eris and the sword sanctum arc completely from the anime despite the fact that its supposed to introduce us to season 3's villains. What an assenine decision.

I find it funny that most of the generic isekai could have ended with their MC marrying a 2nd wife and having a child, while MT is not even half way through its story. It's not a world at war and we don't even have a definite antagonist.

A lot of people got confused of this anime because they did not understand some things and they was so sad after thats ending, its just my guess thats there will be 2 more seasons season 3 and season 4, The first ending in season 3 is that rudeuss and orsted getting ready to kill hitogami and in the end hitogami gonna beat ruddeus and he will be teleported back, when hes gonna be teleported back then he gonna kill himself to get back to his family, second ending is 4 season, he not gonna kill himself and he gonna try to open portal to that world, and he gonna train and do some stuff to get ready to beat him and he will beat, and thats End it's just my guess it's not an spoiler and stuff, i think it will end like that so idk.

Norn was being very obnoxious and a massive hypocrite and she got rightfully shut down by Sylphie.

Season 3 will be of a similar quality, but in a different genre. The final chapters of this season are my favorite part of the story.

Well this is my headcanon but I think Sylphie was upset shocked and other such emotions. She was prepared for Rudeus to have multiple wives (she said so as much in like 2nd ep of this cour) but suddenly, out of nowhere and without talking to her wouldve came out of nowhere. But she was able to handle it calmly thanks to Norn. From personal experiences, Somone being angry and outraged for your sake is reassuring, kinda calms you down giving you oppurtunity to think about things and handle stuff better. Sylphie used the time during Norn's outburst and came to conclusion that she doesnt have problem with the situstion.

As a LN reader of the entire series, this anime adaptation is very good. Did they miss some things the last couple episodes, yes, however, Rifujin himself was assisting in the rewrites so since it's his creation I don't mind the changes. Honestly, people make too big of a deal out of all the issues the last two episodes had. Mushoku Tensei is still better than all the other anime out there in its genre, it even transcends genre. This season was by far my favorite of the two, and I know that if you enjoy the show it's going to get even better as time moves on.

You don't know how much I was waiting for this video on the season finale, I find your thoughts super interesting from an only anime perspective. Sadly the season is over but we are leaving with the good news of the 3rd one soon, and I'm hoping for an OVA. Having negative thoughts about some of the relationships in MT is perfectly fine, especially related to Rudeus, his relationships are not meant to be angelic or romantically pure, in fact his "first time" with the 3 main heroines always have a strong tinge of controversy over romanticism. Even his attempt with Sara and, if you want to count, the prostitute where Soldat took him. The title of the ep was translated as "Succession", but it really should be "inheritance", it is a chapter specially dedicated to the transfer of the long sword from Paul to Norn, as well as Paul's teaching transmitted through Rudeus, Zenith taking in an apparently voluntary act Paul's armor, and what was not shown in the anime, Aisha inheriting the short sword. Another unspoken detail is that: while Sylphie was prepared for Rudeus to bring another wife sometime, she thought it would be Linia, Pursena or even Nanahoshi (the latter being the only one probably unacceptable to her, due to their first interaction when speaking Japanese). That's the reason for her surprise, she never expected the news to come after this trip, but after thinking about all the history that Rudeus and Roxy shared, it made a lot of sense to her. One more little touch that I liked that they had the delicacy to show: It is the scar on Sylphie's left hand when she is giving birth 4:52 When she was a child she had an accident involving fire and got burned, so that's why she is not good with fire magic due to the trauma. As a novel reader, I confirm that the third season is where the gears that were carefully put in place during these two seasons start to spin.

I know it’s totally wrong of Roxy and that it happened, but if you look at Rudy, he had bags in his eyes as if he hadn’t slept in days and looked he hadn’t eaten in days and was still mourning of Paul’s Death Rudy was at close of dying from what I saw, so if it wasn’t for Roxy, Rudy would’ve been depressed untill he was dead and left everyone behind, even his newborn child But on the other hand, it was selfish of Roxy to take advantage of his depression, but in the end, it saved Rudy and everyone who was with him, otherwise it would’ve take a year to get back at his home
