I spent the last 40 years living in an apartment building on Van Reypen St and my apartment windows on the fifth floor looked straight east down Academy St. I knew it was a very historic area and I have attended Old Bergen Church the last 20 years, whose Dutch Reformed congregation was the first in NJ.

My Grandpa owned the corner of Montgomery and West Side Ave. He was in the Cemetery headstone business. My dad owned the Transmission shop and my uncle owned the Auto parts store. My dad grew up on Mallory Ave and my mom grew up in the Duncan Projects. I was born in Jersey City also, at Christ Hospital and lived in JC until i was 5 then we moved to Secaucus. Nice to learn something about the city i was born, the city where my parents were born and grew up in. Thanks for this video

This is the Best Stations of the Cross I have ever seen in all of my 70 years. Because we can Tell God how much we Love Him , Thanking Him for His Great Infinite Love and Sacrifice to Save us, and all in our own words . I think Jesus would appreciate that more when we talk to Him in our own words from our own heart .

Raj: "People shouldn't complain about paying taxes on an estate" Are you kidding me? That's such an out of touch way to look at robbing someone of their money, money that has already been taxed before and isn't income. How dare you declare you have the right to decide what to do with someone else's money when they die. You guys are such jokes.

The payroll tax is a joke. Not let residents shoulder the burden of their own schools? JC pays one of the lowest rates in THE STATE Raj. JC pays 1.48% relative to 2.4% for the state average. Stop misleading the public.

Thanks for this video. I'm a Heights resident and property owner for 28 years and it would be good for this building to be put to better use for the community. That could include more retail, a community center, artist studios or other possibilities. Residential development is inevitable but the height of the project is unquestionably out of scale with the surrounding structures and the neighborhood. The other thing the Heights doesn't need is more cars. 1 to 1 parking in developments is not going to solve congestion problems. It will only put more cars on our streets. Remember, cars don't stay in parking spaces. RNA has been pushing for better bus service in the Heights. Great, but if we bring more cars those buses will just continue to be stuck in congestion. We need more creative ideas and thinking that will discourage more car ownership and encourage more walking, biking and mass transit usage.

Jersey City Heights needs more daring, dynamic architecture and MVMK has designed one at 107 NY Ave. RNA and Pershing Field Assoc are a very small group of people who only speak for themselves not the Heights community as a whole. Parking and the loading dock issues are legitimate concerns but the gentleman who spoke about a crane falling on his house does not have any merit. As a long time Heights residence this building, with some modifications, has my seal of approval.

I could not show everyone who attended but it was over 200 people that showed up. All except one did not want this design.

What one can extrapolate is that people who attend the meeting are the anti-project group. People who don't attend have a more divided opinion. My guess would be, if one were to do a comprehensive survey in the Heights, the ratio would be about 1/3 for, 1/3 against, 1/3 neutral.

If you ever heard of Angelo Zingaro and making liquor during the Prohibition, as well as had some ownership in a failed bank where he took over the mortgages and ensured folks could stay in their homes, owned a lot of property in Jersey City, and also ran a bar outside of Manhattan, then you're talking about my Great Grandfather. He owned a house on Broadman parkway, and my grandparents lived in a house on Garfield Avenue. My Mother went to Our Lady of the Sorrows in the 1940s/50s.

What human being, let alone an American Mayor, could have ZERO sympathy and empathy for other human beings who were BRUTALLY MURDERED?? I am glad to see these folks speak out in favor of the Katyn Memorial. It is obvious that Mayor Steve Fulop wants to remove this Katyn Memorial because he HATES ALL people of Polish ancestry!! Fulop's anti-Polish remarks were meant to DEMONIZE and DEGRADE Polish people....including Jersey City Polish Americans!! No wonder many people are calling him Mayor FOUL UP the FOOLISH Anti-Polish BIGOT!!

What can be the consequence of building code violations? Do you know of any lawyer who is experienced in representing clients facing such offenses?
@jonesadison28346 жыл бұрын
While building code ordinances vary from municipality to municipality, complaints or orders issued by a public code officer are typically served upon owners either personally or by registered mail. If the owner of a property fails to comply with an order to repair, alter or improve the building, the public code officer may cause such a building to be repaired, altered or improved. If this occurs, the municipality may file a lien for costs, expenses, and fees against the premises, which become part of the taxes to be assessed against the property. The person asking the question needs to be much, much clearer about what issue he is getting at. Fulop didn't deny that the city had bus tours or anything else the questioner seemed (who knows?) to be claiming. He seems, from what the questioner says, to be confused or wrong about a specific conference. Is this important? Not to me!
@yvobalcer7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is important. This conference was done for developers to 'fast track' development without public input. Property is being transferred to developers, given redevelopment loans and tax abatements while the public is stuck building more schools that results from this development.

Excellent points. Please vote no. I hope that all have noticed that our Mayor has said nothing about this referendum since deciding not to run for governor. This referendum was a tool to insure he had a backup political position to secure in case he did not win the govern election. Now that he's not running he wants to keep the election in May to give his opponents less time to raise campaign funds and improve their support base. #NEVERFULOP #ONETERMFULOP
