Weiter so. Hab ein Abo da gelassen 😊

Thank you for the review. It's going to be such a great book. I'm a big fan of Murakami writing, I have read only two of his books 'Norwegian Wood' and 'The Wind-up Bird Chronicle'. Can't wait to read this book. Please send it to me as books are costly here in India, can't afford to buy them. I will be always grateful 🙏

I should be the lucky winner because Murakami’s books have been a source of deep inspiration and introspection for me, and The City and Its Uncertain Walls feels like a continuation of that transformative journey. As someone who not only loves to read but also shares that love through my Instagram page, where I combine my passion for literature, animals, and nature, winning this book would allow me to dive into Murakami’s world and spread the beauty of his words to a larger audience. This isn’t just about owning another book-it’s about connecting with a story that will resonate with my soul and sharing that connection with others. I believe this book is destined to find a reader who will cherish every page, and I hope to be that reader!

I've almost finished reading this book again. Such a great story, but a lot to unpack. You've done such a good job capturing the dreamy almost nightmarish vibe of the novel. I'm glad that you had Murakami's work, specifically Wind-Up Bird, to give you comfort in those hard times (I know he's got me through a few myself). You should be really proud of this video. Appreciate what we have while we have it-I can't think of a more profound lesson that we need to be reminded of constantly.

Thank you so much. As you said, there is a lot to unpack. So many things we can discover with every read, and it is beautiful to see that he helps us adapting many messages into our life.

One of the only things I can say for sure is that Fukada Eri does connect Aomame and Tengo. Murakami is careful to avoid any fact to confirm any interventions of the little people but it appears that the Little People creating the Air Chyrsalis causes Fukaeri to run away from Sakigake, which sets into motions the events that bring Tengo and Aomame together. She was only able to escape because of the dohta and, as Tengo wonders, we can 't say which is the "real" Eri. Did the maza or the dohta escape? Because we cannot see the other one, we only meet one, we can never confirm. Similar to how we are not sure to the extent by which 1Q84 is different than the original world because we hardly see the world before Aomame's departure from it. Many distorted perceptions, and unrealized connections, and unexplained coincidences. They all dissolve by the end to give way to the resolution of the star-crossed lovers narrative arc but hardly though logic. Moreso plot points just faded away until they were so distant they were no longer important. Partially because they did not lead anywhere and partially because other things materialize in their place. By the end everything wraps up. Not so much nicely as succinctly, as if there were no ways left to draw it out any longer.

This is my favorite of his novels out of the 8 I've read. Like what you described in the video, I read it at just the right time. I picked it up on a trip in the mountains, and was reading it during a time of a big life change. The way music and painting plays such a big role in this book was another big factor of why it affected me so.

But you can’t have “many” cats if you don’t get rid of them constantly😢 Even if you have 2 or 3 cats their average life is 12-15 years so they would have those 2 or 3 cats the whole Murakami’s childhood years. Even if they disappear or die by accident in the most cases it’s owners’ fault. So sadly I guess they weren’t the best cat owners so maybe he still feels sorry deep down for that

This book was harder for me to read as well. I love Murakami but I found this to be unnecessarily complex and even a bit wordy as if he was trying to show off his literary ability. However there was a mesmerizing melancholy to this story that still captivates me. I love how you captured this in video. I’d loved to see a video about the ending.

Thank you! The first read felt difficult to me as well, but the flow gets better with each page. Another video will definitely come in the future.
