Japanese Literature Reading Wrap Up 2023 | Haruki Murakami, Mieko Kawakami, Sayaka Murata

I cannot wait for Murakami's new release ! I plan to reread many of his works next year . I adore Japanese Lit in general - it is a whole vibe. Some I would recommend are Tokyo Ueno Station by Yu Miri, Spring Garden by Tomoka Shibasaki, Mild Vertigo by Mieko Kanai, The Ten Loves of Nishino by Hiromi Kawakami , The Waiting Years by Fumiko Enchi, If Cats Disappeared from The World, by Kawamura Genki, Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukagawa , and anything by Yasunari Kawabata. I could go on and on.

I read Wind Up Bird Chronicle this year too. I feel like it's one of those books I have to read again before I can fully formulate a full opinion.

Thank you for your list. I would like to recommend the books of Natsuo Kirino, my favorite is "Out" a very interesting and suggestive thriller with impressive characters.
