Hi there What is the year of this model ? I have a 2009 x300r and the drive belt cracked once my son pulled the knob that operates the blades. I think deck was nearly clogged and the belt is old .. now I have to buy a new one and replace DIY. however, when grass is wet, it deck gets blocked very quickly I find it a little bit weird for a semi pro tractor that come with a 7.5K USD price tag. What are your feedbacks ? Thanks a lot 😅

I have got a four year-old Qualcast cartridge 14 inch mower and have had nothing but problems with it. my lawnmower repair man said they are poorly made. It’s almost ready to be thrown away what is happening now is everything else is working or fixed… replaced carburettor fixed the spark plug fixed broken belts et cetera et cetera the latest problem is the pink cogs seem to melt due to something sticking in the mechanism and everything gets too hot, doesn’t matter if it’s the scarifier cartridge or the cylinder blades I’ve got no idea?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@snazzymowers14094 ай бұрын
Sorry, we've never had a cartridge mower, possibly a bearing or something has gone? We tend to try to stay away from the cylinder mowers as they're often frustrating to work on and hard to sell on
@snooksnufc88014 ай бұрын
@@snazzymowers1409 my lawnmower man has recommended the new cobra fortis, I’ve I’ve gone electric and the cartridge system is much more robust. The whole mower seems to be fantastic well-made and less expensive than Allet Atco etc. As Cobra success starts to sink in hopefully it will cause an improvement in the manufacture quality.

Spend 3 days working on the old mower and also spend £75 on materials...or....buy a newer mower for £140. Tough call. Lol
@snazzymowers14095 ай бұрын
You're looking at £30 worth of materials, and £250 for a new self-propelled mower, and only a few hours of time, so the maths looks a little more positive now. Also saving another mower from landfill, and many people enjoy fixing things.
@garymills74945 ай бұрын
@@snazzymowers1409 Hi, a self propelled petrol mower with a Briggs engine (3 year guarantee) costs £139 from Aldi. At those numbers, you are wasting your time repairing a rusted out mower that will rust out again in 12 months.

So I had my tracker picked up for repair. The shop dropped it off the trailer and now the deck wont lower or raise properly. They refuse to fix it and I have had very little luck finding anything pointing me in the right direct. Any idea's where I should start?

Once the moisture gets under the fibre glass it will come away from the decking, have tried all these methods over the years and the only answer is polycarbonate plastic decks, no rot no rust 👍😎
@snazzymowers14095 ай бұрын
We've had pretty good success with this, not had one fall out yet, but yes, nothing will last forever. Plastic decks crack though, alloy ones also crack, there's no wonder material unfortunately.

@snazzymowers1409 Жыл бұрын
It could be that the handle that sits in each hole for the height adjustment is bent - and it could possibly be stiff just because of lack of use, and the pivot rusting. Is it stiff in both directions, if it's only stiff going up the spring could have broken
