We are not all meant to be business owners. You have made all the mistakes that my parents (1960's) have made. We know that BLACK PEOPLE are not honest. Whether from ghana, Nigeria or far away as Jamaica, We are Liars! Maybe you should read more, and when you talking to people, fucking LISTEN. We do not listen when we are being talked to. We always think it's that guys problem, we can it better. You should be ashamed. You should stick to your online business. I suggest you you apologize to your wife and children. Thus is already a known problem. Give UP dude

I am amazed by a number of people who think that they can successfully start a viable business in Zimbabwe after having been out of the country for some time. If you have been in the diaspora, you have more chances of starting a business or investing wisely because the environment is conducive for that. In western countries loans are easily available and there are heaps of investment vehicles that you can use to become very successful. What is lacking is financial literacy and this is the area that we should help each other. When retirement comes you should have enough money to see you through or even to live some for the kids. When you decide to retire in Zim your investments should provide enough income to live on. Thinking that you will be able to start a successful business at your old age and in Zimbabwe is the wrong mindset. You don't, all of a sudden, become a good businessperson because you are in Zimbabwe. Try to start your business in the diaspora and then extend it to Zimbabwe if you can. A lot of us have never done farming before, but, for some unknown reasons we think that we can make it big as farmers back home. Like everything else you need to be on top of your game to be successful. Winging it will not work, and you risk losing the little that you have. @ruwa organics thank you. You are opening up channels with potential to help some people grow. I am in Australia, and I am making the most of it whilst I am still here.

Growing your own food, and growing food for your poultry will help keep costs low. Lots of producers are looking for outgrowers. I haven't yet started myself, though when you have your own property, survival can be subsidised. Also consider renting some of your space to other companies that want producers to produce their standard of products (vegetables included. Then theres a high demand for rabbits too. For export. Contact the rabbitry association (They export to Rwanda and other regional countries) Just an idea.

Honestly only the connected zanu pf make huge sums of money here in Zimbabwe and a lot of capital they raised was through looting the white farmers decades ago. Corruption is too high in Zimbabwe. To make it worthwhile living in Zimbabwe you have to make millions upon millions of USD this is to cover retirement health education etc for your kids otherwise it’s not worth it there is no safety net in Zimbabwe. The country has dictatorship for more than 40 years Zimbabwe people are ruthless racist and cut throat stealing is in their DNA

Easy Banana Cake Recipe 225 grams self-raising flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder 1/4 teaspoon mixed spice 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg a pinch of ginger powder 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/8 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons milk 100ml vegetable oil 2 large eggs 100 grams caster sugar 75g soft light brown sugar 2 mashed bananas Method : Banana Cake Butter and flour your loaf tin, a 900g loaf tin roughly 17cm x 9cm x 9cm. Pre-heat your oven to 180 Celsius Put all your ingredients into a large mixing bowl and mix until well mixed. You can measure all your ingredients into one bowl to save on washing up. (Just remember to set your scale to zero after each ingredients is added.) Pour your mixture into the prepared loaf tin and level the top. Bake for 40-50 minutes. You can check after 40 minutes to see if it’s ready. Put a cake tester in the middle of the cake, if it comes out clean it is ready. Leave the cake in the tin for about 5 minutes before turning it onto a cooling rack to cool completely.

Blazo let me tell you it’s because stealing and thuggery and corruption is now in DNA of every Zimbabwean . Zimbabweans learnt this from Mugabe when they looted the best farms the world had seen . Sorry to say Zimbabwe is a very racist backward country. Zimbabwe is way way behind international countries they are stuck in the past in Zimbabwe they still talk about colonialism and whites and west etc just look at India Singapore etc . Zimbabwe is overrated and overpriced most investors etc go to Zambia Botswana etc . Cut your losses

PROBLEM : I respect your Point of View and I humbly disagree because you're not looking at the real problems especially at the grassroots level. You're looking at symptoms and discussing how to cure them without talking about the actual disease. A nation & society is built on structure, when you ask individual X why can't they hustle like individual Y it's literally the same thing as expecting every person to be a leader in a way - people are capable to different extents. As a matter of fact, statistically speaking there will always be more leaders than followers, leaders are a minority by nature's design. - these people do not need to be pushed or externally motivated. Simple observation, MAYBE 2 in every 50 people will actually question why the hell should I go to university, the rest will do so without ever asking WHY. The leader follower paradigm is actually what creates structure in nature. Modern society already solved this challenge where there are a few people who can truly thrive on their own and masses who need structures to guide them - a key part of that structure is called education and it funnels them into employment by providing them with skills and training. Leaders create & lead the institutions, businesses etc. In a country where the employment arm of the structure has collapsed, education in turn loses value and the masses lose value & thus purpose & their livelihoods. The leaders are the ones who spent most of their time thinking critically about things like our systems, processes, challenges, solutions etc, the masses for the most part are concerned with their livelihoods, communities & families, which is exactly what you want because the family is the most important unit of society. However here is why our country is in tatters : Normally, the leaders in a society whether its gvt, business etc they usually end up in their positions as a side effect of chasing their passions NOT MONEY. This means you naturally end up with the most gifted people in their respective areas leading these different organs of society. Our country has hijacked that entire natural order of things and you do have leaders but not the ones who should be in the places they are & thus they do not create structure, critically solve the right problems for the masses. What I hope you takeaway from this section is that you cannot look at the masses failing for whatever reason eg not highly driven, not as educated, not as dedicated etc - because that is the natural order of things, to be average or unremarkable has its place in a functioning society - laziness is poison though because you want people in this group to at least be hardworking. SOLUTION : Here's an anecdote. My uncle Daniel Chingoma the guy who tried to build a plane passed away this year and it had me reflecting on how little support he ever got from gvt or private institutions etc. Rather people laughed at him, in fact when he designed his hand operated boreholes he named his company TAISEK, short for Taisekwa. He was quite wealthy but he died broke because he funneled most of his resources into the plane project. Of course he was too ambitious and bit more than he can chew, but you can't tell me that guy couldn't have come up with solutions for so many other challenges in our society. Point is he was a person of passion. These types of people are the cornerstone of any society - these are the Mark Zuckerbergs, Elon Musks etc. They create value that benefits millions of people downstream. Most of these people tend to have something in common, they don't work for money but money works for them. They pursue their passions first and then money happens as a side effect. The difference is that whole system where such people rise has been completely disabled in Sim in favor of a who-knows-who system, so suddenly it's not the smartest guy or most deserving person that gets a given opportunity or funding etc, rather it is the guy who is well-connected or even sometimes -related lol. The people who chase money are usually mercenaries - they see a world with limited resources and essentially fight others to take what they can for themselves - this is how the majority of our people are operating & why I wanted to push back on the video a bit. The people who create wealth in the process of chasing their passion - these are the missionaries, they see the world as if it has unlimited potential, they don't operate from a place of scarcity but rather the infinity of their imagination. I'll leave ya'll with a question, which of the individuals from these two groups are likely to drive their lamboghirni over portholes and which one are likely to downgrade from the lambo to a Range Rover and fix the road instead? PS : I oversimplified a lot of things here for the sake of brevity.

That's really unfortunate and my family has had similar issues in the past in Jamaica when we weren't 100% there. I think you understood a good bit about how much money you would need to invest but the knowledge of what to do and how to properly farm and cultivate your crops and chickens could have been more. From experience you have to be there boots on the ground because at the end of the day who else can you trust to do the job the way you want it when you're not there to oversee it. I think this would have went very different if you just started small and established yourself and a list of trustworthy industry professionals in the area.

I am a South African, and I followed your journey, at times out of curiosity, but also to learn. Your enthusiasm and patriotic fervour is contagious. I have a BSc in Agriculture, but never used it; because farming is a noble idea, however practice is very hard. No one will get rich in farming unless they are hugely subsidised by the state, even in Europe, it is a protected trade, due to its huge costs of overheads and inputs. It's also prone to disasters and weather patterns. That's why our white farmers were also subsidised by the apartheid state. Now, our government will give you a small tractor, a plough and bag of seeds, and say 'go farm'. As I speak, fields, that were once green under crops, lay fallow, new farmers ran. I still want to have a plot of land, bought cash, to just retire and do subsistence farming. My dream of being a farmer in these conditions is nil. I still admire your positive vibes and lets-do-it attitude. Salute
