The alien logo is Lisp and the lambda is Haskell. Lisp is great! Why not actually find out what you are ranking before you rank them. It's like ranking a film that you have never seen and also never heard of before.

This is the best language tier list I’ve seen. Not that the bar was that high lol. At least one of you have used each of these languages once, so you’re actually fair the smaller languages.

I feel that recommending the self-taught route as viable is outdated and out of touch advice in the curent job market. Doesn't matter how skilled you are or how amazing your portfolio is because without a CS degree or prior experience no one is even going to look at it right now. Sure there are still people out there achieving it but they are statistical anomalies. This is coming from someone who self-taught for 2.5 years before giving in and pursuing a CS degree. I never got a single call for an interview.

Stay relevant makes sense. I agree but some got videos with software is dying. As a software engineer we are the ones who created AI. If this spoiled kid dismantles our job, it will be destroyed sooner or later. Rather Doftware engineering is growing

I would recomend starting with HTML, css and js next go to a js framework like vue or svelte. After that Java or C# and then C. Python is the last language i would recomend just because i hate the Syntax and the Syntax(whitespaces) are so different from 90% of languages and python is way to much dependent on Code from other devs.

Video Editing is too low 👎👎👎👎 Edit the video in a good style. Add nice b-roll animation when you are speaking or explaining something. This will increase visualization. Put proper subtitles, effects, transitions, and colors in the video. Insert the B-Roll (footage and animation) very well because it is absolutely low in your video. Do all this and then see how the video doesn't turn out good. 🍠

13:45! When I started programming 2 yrs ago I started with Python. While Python syntax is sort of easier…I hated the tooling. Quit programming for 3 months before trying JS. HTML instantly displaying things from live server in VS Code got me pumped and I’ve been doing JS,HTML5, and CSS3 ever since! Nick made a point that really hit home for me. ❤

You can get a CS degree from regionally accredited online schools that carry the same weight as any state college for VERY affordable tuition fees. WGU, UMPI, TESU, etc. The KZbin Channel, “College Hacked” is worth checking out.

As someone who’s been in tech since 1999 fresh out of high school, I would advise anyone coming in to GET A DEGREE. Tech has become saturated in recent years, any edge that can get you an interview do it! Also, having a degree will get you past the ATS filter. Choose a good program from a State school with cheap tuition. Just get the degree! Bootcamps are dead in 2024 and most were a scam anyway.

The number of tech people I've met and worked with who claim they think logically and reasonably, and then say the most illogical things ever and can't use common sense for interpersonal communication is way too high. Let me say just because you're logical in coding doesn't mean you're logical in everything else, and please don't pretend to be @_@

Developing your personality is incomparibly more important than becoming a star programmer. Coding can only get you so far within an organization. On the other hand, having excellent people skills opens up nearly all the doors.
