This was WAY too short. Angela Lansbury was so beautiful and talented, and "Murder She Wrote" is one of the best shows ever. Rest In Peace.

Lansbury doesn't blink from 1:02 till the end of the scene. Very effective way of portraying a domineering, evil woman without having to raise one's voice or chew scenery.

Ms Lansbury could read the phone directory and she would make it an art

By the time Murder She Wrote started, I’m sure many adults remembered her from Bed knobs and Broomsticks in their childhood. This probably helped them to relate to her so quickly and fondly.

John Frankenheimer directed Angela Lansbury one year earlier in All Fall Down”. Co- starring Warren Beatty,Eva Marie Saint,Karl Malden,Brandon De Wilde. One morning Frankenheimer gave Angela a book he wanted her to read as he was hoping to direct a film adaptation. The book was The Manchurian Candidate and after much soul searching and lobbying from JF she agreed. Thankfully for cinema goers all over the world Angela said yes. And yes Angela kissed Warren Beatty on the lips in All Fall Down like she did Laurence Harvey. Angela said late in her life “John was obsessed about( relationships) between mothers and sons”

Angela Landsbury is brilliant in this film. She should have won the Oscar that year.

So many parallels to today’s rhetoric, grooming and events. It's streaming on quite a few platforms.

I've recently watched John Adams and I have to say, it's the best tv show i've ever watched and I can totally understand why nobody won besides the actors in John Adams that year. An incredible show!

If you look closely, you’ll see that she’s far too young to play his mother, but she SELLS it. Lansbury is a legend, she could do anything.

I would have liked to have seen Elaine in an episode or two of the Golden Girls. She could have played a neighbour or one of the sisters.

What an ego. I mean I like her and all but what makes her think the critics would’ve automatically raved about the film version of MAME if she had been in it? More times than not what works great on stage doesn’t translate on the same on film.

Either she flubbed her lines, or no one did their research; it's pretty well known that Golden Girls was a huge hit for NBC, not CBS.

Just shows you that it’s not funny, smart or clever to think that you’re more important than the ensemble of talents when auditioning (or any other time for that matter!)!! Bea got the part, didn’t ‘mouth off’ to the creators and executives, and cemented her legacy piece into television….world history!! Way to go Elaine (that chair sure starts getting heavy with the passing of each year huh)!! 🙄

Angela’s black courtiers gown - was from the “Murder, She Wrote” wardrobe collection - personally ordered by Angela during the 1992 summer… producers refused to pay for the gown… Angela refused a return to the series…! WE KNEW WHO WON THE DISAGREEMENT … Angela wore the gown - for a TONY AWARD SHOW…!’!
