Do we know that AASI itself was a homogenous genetic group? there could have been many different tribes, with different genes and languages throughout the subcontinent.

I wonder how many yamnaya/sintashta actually came to the subcontinent. Today it might be 15% of the population, but how many came originally. Also David Reich says that one-third of India's population belong to castes that had a founder effect. What is the steppe percentage in those groups? (If it is substantial, most of the steppe percentage could just be because of the founder effect)

1. No one can tell how many Steppe-ancestry people came to South Asia. How many came is actually not relevant since a small number of migrants can also "mate" with a larger number of hosts - there is no one-is-to-one rule in mating, especially in older times. 2. South Asians today have Steppe genetic composition ranging from 0% (certain communities in South India) to 30% (Jats and North Indian Brahmins). People in North India generally have more Steppe genetic composition compared to people in the south. Upper caste people generally have more Steppe genetic composition compared to lower-caste people and tribal people.

As we all know , Brahmins are new untouchables like Jews . Can't we stand together and support each other to uplift ourself . when I read the social media comments most of the people always abuse Brahmins because we are soft target.

Vedic aryans were fish eating Brahmins who lived along saraswati rivers and migrated as saraswats as the river dried up these people genetically are from yamnaya step ancestors mixed with Indian Iranians this closes the final chapter on this political charged topic any takers please comment

Most Indians, South Asians actually (except those communities living in the Himalayas and Northeast), have three genetic sources - AASI + Ancient Iranian + Steppe. The percentage of each component varies depending generally on region and caste. Also, as Razib Khan says there is some East Asian component in some Bengali and other people.

You are completely ignoring the time of drying up of River Saraswati. Think about that. Rigved talks of a mighty river flowing from Himalay to the sea. Ask yourselves when was it flowing mightily? Going by latest geological studies it dried up well before 4000 BC. That would make Vedic period prior to IVC.

I'm from Shimla and what Sai said is so true. Eyes tear up seeing the destruction of Maa Bharti in such a ruthless way. Hydropower and forced industrialisation have destroyed the Himachal. The state isn't suited for such heavy load. Solar power and biogas plants are the only sustainable way to keep this Deva-bhoomi ideal for the Devas, for both the Purush and the Prakruti Jai Bholenath 🕉️ 🙏

i just realized that any physical or digital entity or structures are not merely dead matter but instead the housing of the collective unconscious of a group then its highly imperative to build and strengthen the entities or structure that can negate or lessen its attacks but then that to take place the collective unconsciousness of the hindus should deeply introspect itself and know its own deep hatred and insecurities that have been placed by the colonialists,it should decolonise itself from the mind ,and how can that happen ,krishna says to do svadharma, the act which belongs to the capacity of the individual and not doing paradharma or that which one is not supposed to do,we have all been engaged in paradharma and created vasanas which are simmering underneath and creating grandiose dreams and subsequent chasing of those dreams ,break our own legs, delude ourselves...once we go back to svadharma then the broken connection of ancestors, deities ,nature will restored...

I really like how Gaurav articulated his points against decoloniality. Instead of hating the tool he recognizes that Bharat needs to be decolonized and that this tool can also be misused. What I really don't like is how Kushal Mehra has been presenting his arguments against decoloniality. He thinks this tools could be used to create some kind of castiest dystopia and that is the ''only'' direction decolonialty could go. Would love to see some kind of a discussion between Kushal and Sai Deepak some day but one could say that Sai Deepak has already presented his arguments later in this video and many times in his earlier talks.

@@ramramgki Nobody is acchut actually. Shudra is not equal to acchut. Shudra means someone who serves and do seva. And there's nothing to wrong in Being that. Meanwhile, acchut is untouchable which isn't a good thing.

Interesting discussion illuminating. This to me is the flowering of India’s democracy. To get a seat at the administration table every community is jockeying for a seat at the table. Good. The ‘Dalits’ the so called the group perpetually at the bottom of the totem pole have an awakening, muscle flexing-encourage it we should as long as it is peaceful and their feelings of having arrived-no longer do they just want to be the hewer of wood and drawer of water. Greening of Democracy 👏👏👏👏
