Great review. I did a lot of research to try and find the right jacket and your vid helped me to finally decide. Plus I could actually see the colour and how it fits. I lives miles away from a store which stocks the Makalu, so I have to rely on online ordering. Great explanation of the features like pockets and hood etc. thank you.

Enjoyed this video. I loved the lily pond and moorhens. I used to live in the UK and love the English countryside. Derbyshire and the Peak District are some of my favourite places. It's a pity you aren't interested in wildflowers because you passed some interesting ones (like at 6:53). I will have to check out your other videos.

Good evening Mary, Just came accross your channel, really so wonderful and thank you. I think you were in my favourite place in the world, Firkin Point, on the Shores of Loch Lomond. I pray this finds you well and we look forward to watching your other walks. Adele XX

Just, Wow! Looks fabulous. I really liked the way you viewed the overall course, very informative. I'm currently attending an on-line YTT course, so I wont have the ceremony to attend...but that's ok. All the best for your future with yoga, Namaste

This is a great video for anyone thinking of doing the WHW. I know a lot of people will camp at Kinghouses but if you’ve got a few more miles in you that day I recommend making a start up Devil’s Staircase as there’s a super little wild camp spot next to a stream just off the path - but maybe don’t tell everyone 🤫

SO glad I found this video, Mary. I’m from UK too and looking to hike in 2025 and resupply I have to admit is freakin’ me out more than rattlesnakes and bears 😂 As you say just having to be self reliant in an unfamiliar country with unfamiliar shops and whether to send boxes and where to. How on earth did you begin to put together your list and find out what shops were where and choose post office or stores to send to? mind bending for me at the moment without videos like this.

The box that the product comes in shows a different way of using it as a gravity filter, where the filter isn’t attached to the pouch directly but via the hose. In that configuration, you connect the blue adapter to the pouch, the hose to the blue adapter, and the gray adapter at the other end of the hose, and finally the filter to the gray adapter. So, the filter is the last piece in this configuration, not the first piece after the pouch.

Dear M\ary, I'm a 71 year old guy who only just recently came across your videos whilst researching a Peak District trip. I was entranced by your gorgeous, life-enhancing commentary as you strode along, as if every day, every little detail of a walk, was a brand new delight to you. You genuinely made my spirits soar with the love of life you exude. So now, after watching this utterly sincere, moving description of what you have had to endure, I am tearful. I am old enough to know that what we see on the surface is only part of the whole. In some cases, my love of artists has been trashed by discovering the views they hold; the wretched things they have done. In your case, the reverse is true. Whilst deeply saddened by discovering your travails, I can also say that I now admire you even more, Mary. Because you have shown that the big-hearted woman of your inspiring, joyous walking videos only hints at the depths that enable you to reach out to so many people. In a world of fakes and deceits it is a privilege to share your warm, human response to your oh-so-troubled times. You're a treasure, Mary. Hang on that thought. From an old guy who's been around and knows the real thing when he comes across it. Take care of yourself, luv.

Hard to believe it's been almost 5 years. I'm getting ready in a couple weeks to go back up and give some more trail magic. I just love it so much and meeting the hikers and listening to their stories. I can hike anymore myself now because of health reasons but I can still do this. Hope you are still well Mary.

Loved the information and followed along on my phone hiking app while penning notes as you went along! One bit of confusion, I believe the Excelby Services Shell station and shop is on the A19 just 1/4 mile from Ingleby Arncliff (as the road sign in your image would indicate) and not on the A167 crossing at Oaktree Hill. It looks like I will need to hike a little bit further for my favorite crisps! 😊

Enjoyed watching the video. The Westmorland Dales are a relatively under visited part of Cumbria. They're absorption into the Yorkshire Dales National Park and also this stretch of the Coast-Coast probably gains them some attention but they remain quiet in comparison with the honey spots of Cumbria to the west.

I visited Haworth, for the first time, last month. I stayed 3 days and as well as 3 visits to the Parsonage, also walked to the Bronte falls and Top Withens. Juliet Barker's biography of the Brontes was my inspiration. This video by Mary, brings my experience right back to me, just the correct blend of information, views and accompanying music. Brilliant, well done Mary. Deserves a much wider viewing.
