How many people go into a music store bent on getting a Stratocaster and always come out with a telecaster. Happens all the time.

Lovely video Mimi! I think your Tele is much more than simply a 'material possesion'.... Here's what I think; there's a tuning rabbit hole. If you're playing in G, tune the strings to the G fingering. If you're mainly around the 5th fret give or take, tune the strings when you're playing the root chord/shape... It miiight help (it might not)... :)

Mia, everyone always remembers their first! 😊 Seriously what a wonderful story about your guitar and how the proprietor helped you out. I bet he really could see how excited you were about this guitar and knew you were sincere about obtaining it. I don’t know if he’s still around but I’m sure he would be happy that he helped out a young musician achieve her dreams! Keep up the good work Mia! 🙂

I hope that you can get the intonation/ sound issue sorted out and that you can do updates on this guitar when you are 32/ 42/ 52/ 62. And have many more stories to tell about it and properly earned battle scars to show off. I still have my first guitar - got it at 18 and I'm now over 50. It did sit, unloved, for a few decades and it looks nothing like it was new - after I've heavily modified it, but it's in my study with the other guitars and you've now inspired me to grab it for a play.

You don't actually pick the guitar. The guitar picks you if you are paying attention. Does not matter the price range, manufacturer or otherwise 😂! It speaks to you. I would not ever sell the guitar, if not anything, the story has such emotional strings attached. Be well and keep on being you! ❤

I went into my local GC and saw a used black Gibson Les Paul Studio hanging on the wall. I took it down, looked at it, and put it back. A week later I went back to the GC to buy the guitar and was told that it had been sold that very morning. Oh well, I thought, it wasn't meant to be. A week after that, I went back to the GC still looking for my first guitar. And, what do I see? The black guitar that had been returned. It was probably returned because it's all beat up on the back, but it plays great. I guess it was meant to be after all.

When there's a story connected to a guitar, it makes them much more special. I recently got a used 40th anniversary Tele, and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

You need to go down to Exeter and visit my Favorite KZbin Guitarist, John Nathan Cordy, I bet you might even know Jake Loosemore, he gets around more in the UK. Would be neat to see a video of you with Either of those players.
