I'm really glad you took the time to show Tommy unboxing and assembling it. As fun as it was to see your excitement upon unboxing your dream guitar, I've always wondered what it takes to build a guitar from a kit (without dropping the cash for one myself!) 😊

It's a royal PIA if, like me you don't have a decent work bench. I still get them built though, because while Fenders are great, they don't make a guitar I find "just right". But in the end, it's very gratifying.
@kenster86510 ай бұрын
@@deanallen927 No it's not!! I built Strat's and Tele's in the late 2000's and even did my own body painting on a few examples. One just has to be organized, pay attention to details, and know how to do simple soldering. Finally you really need to know how to properly set up a guitar once built for great playability. These are NOT hard skills to learn... just sayin'...

With Fender celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Stratocaster and you celebrating your birthday, what a great time to get this iconic guitar. That Daphne blue color with the grain of the ash wood body showing through along with those blue abalone neck inlays gives the guitar a truly stunning look. The locking tuners and all those original Fender parts will pay dividends for years to come. It was so generous of Tommy to share his guitar skills and build the guitar for you. He is such a wonderful and talented individual. It always warms my heart to see a fellow guitar enthusiast acquire a new guitar that brings them joy and inspiration. Looking forward to hearing those vintage ‘59 pickups in another video
@alextaylor62163 ай бұрын
I wouldn't exactly call it a counterfeit Fender "iconic", using copies of a Fender body and neck, Fender branded parts and a cheating decal. Beautiful guitar, but it shouldn't wear "Fender" on the headstock when it simply isn't one.

Great job cleaning up this axe. What a demonstration of patience. The body style and silver color does give me an "alien" vibe for some reason. The fact that it is aluminum really makes it unique. It sounds really good also. Extra bonus points for the Mama's Boys T-shirt.

Love the maple neck! Your guitar looks gorgeous! Matches the owner! Of course! Be sure to take care of it. I have an older 1982 Start. Yeah Mia...I inherited a MiM Fender neck...pretty nice. I had a Fender Start body made by MJT for it. Blue burst. You can see the alder wood grain. While I wish I could've afforded ash, the alder was really pretty. And putting Fat 50s into it was neat. Shortly after, Fender themselves did come out with a stock guitar with Fat 50s. Go figure! Mine only cost around $750.00 to make. But my neck was given to me. Now I have two Startocasters! Along with my B-Bender Tele! Rock on woman! Fun watching you unbox it.

I'm so happy to see someone else digging the colors I do. I have two strats, one is daphne blue with a maple neck much like yours, the other is seafoam green with a maple neck. I like them bright-looking. Your new guitar's proven me wrong in a few ways. I used to scoff internally (perhaps that's a burp?) when people would opt for an SSS config rather than taking advantage of the extra tonal variety of a HSS config, but after playing my brother's '06 (I think?) American Standard, I now see why SSS is not missing out. I never thought abalone inlays would look ok for a maple neck, but there they go doing so. Seeing the woodgrain through the paint is something I never thought I'd like, since it looks like primer, somehow incomplete, in photos - and especially with such an 'intentional' color - it does look like the ocean 'in person'. Reminds me of some of the cool Suhr paint jobs. I'd have left that protective plastic on the pickguard for possibly 8yrs though, lol. There's such a huge aftermarket for Strats, it's still strange to me that someone can build one, even from their own spec, but not immediately come at it with tools & about 15 alterations. I attacked my American Performer HSS Strat (2018) on all fronts - replace the nut with TUSQ, put an anodyzed aluminum pick guard on it, add top-tier locking Schaller tuners, add Schaller strap locks too, adding my favorite "Floyd Rose Rail-Tail" trem (filling all 5 spring hooks too), adding a Shawbucker2 to the bridge, along with an Obsidian wire kit. Even 'roller' string guides on the headstock. Then comes my 9.5 - 44 Ernie Ball strings & I proceed to make some of the worst sounds possible, because I've got no talent whatsoever, lol. Congrats on your new addition! Pardon my rambling post, I just love new gear.

Hi mimi! Sounds like a texas blues guitar.🤭 I'm a drummer and last month I just got a brand new supraphonic 6.5 ludwig LM-402 snare drum! Date created: may 31, 2024 fresh off the monroe, north Carolina factory. Each one contains a one of a kind serial number and it's mine for life! Ludwig even knows who purchased it from the serial number! I know the excitement you feel because I love ludwig since the early 70's! What's so great about the LM-402? It's the same snare drum that john Bonham used! Yep, ludwig still makes them today. Damn expensive but it sounds amazing! When you hear that snare on just about every led zep album, it actually sounds like a "pop". The reason why is because the studio technology used back then. In person mimi, this snare is loud, deep, full of bass. Think def Leppard "pyromania ". Oh, btw, rick allen recorded a supraphonic 6.5 ludwig black beauty. Have fun!🎼🎵
